1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

PS4 ..but.. but.. it feels just like driving a car??

I moved apartments recently, so it's taken me a little while to get things set up. But finally, I have AC on my PS4, with a new T150 and a WheelStand Pro. I was very hopeful that this would be as good a sim as people say - but nervous because of all the negative comments that have been flying around.

It's been a few years since I've done any sim-racing at all, because I've spent a few years overseas for work and things got complicated. Before then I was an enthusiastic but talentless sim-racer, and spent a couple of years dabbling with GTR2 and then with iRacing. I liked both of them a lot, although I sucked, certainly not getting anywhere near a podium in iRacing. Unfortunately my PC didn't survive my move, so it's PS4 or nothing for me now.

So when I finally fired up AC - a sim on a console! - and started to get used to throwing those BMWs around in career mode, I was completely blown away. Maybe it's my imagination, but this feels much more like driving a real car then iRacing ever did. Yes, that obviously has a ton of content and a fantastic infrastructure, but in terms of sheer driving feel, AC felt much, much better. I'm staggered! Because it feels like real driving, I was winning races and podiums against the easy AI in no time.

Not everything is perfect, sure. I do see the occasional screen tear, and the content is light. It does feel like the heavier, production cars feel more realistic than the brief bout I had in an open wheeler, but maybe I just need more time. And I get people's need for lobbies, but I'm OK with the AI for now.

Just wanted to share my positive reflections on the game to add a little balance to the negative ones out there. Not to dismiss people's genuine concerns with it, but I do think that taken on its own merits, AC is a fantastic, yet limited sim. Which is pretty much a first on console. Well done - and thanks!

Welcome to AC, neat one right? :)

Techpreview back in early 2013 had just Magione and the Lotus Elise on pc, I had the exact same experience -"It drives like a real car!". The most intuitive driving/ffb physics there is, glad to hear it has come through on consoles too.

    CHeers!

While I run my Sims strictly on PC, AC is my go-to Sim when I want to "feel" like I'm driving an actual race car. There is just something about most cars in AC that allow me to "feel" the weight of the car and the texture and grip of the road better than iRacing. I run Fanatec CSW2 wheel and pedals along with two buttKickers. RaceRoom also does a great job of projecting the "feel" of a car.
