1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Hi,

Just wondering if the Devs, or anybody could give a break down of Car groups. What I mean is, if you are setting up a server, a list of cars that go well together. I mean you would not put a BMW 1M against the Ferrari F40....

    Many Thanks

I have a new dedicated server running, and it uses the Ini file, not the launcher, so that is why I was asking :)

    Cheers

Yep, car classes would be desirable. Make`s hosting easier. If you want compare cars, to put them together on your server, maybe kg/bhp to use as an indivator, would make sense.

I made a little list which shows all cars sorted into their "categories".

I attached it here, so you can have a look. Might help for multi-class racing as well

Thanks. What do the classes mean, or rather, how are the cars classified?

I have been told that the class list you done, as I posted it somewhere else and said, it's not my work has been done without any real comparison. Most of them won't really work. Can I ask, Is this AC Devs class list or one you done yourself? I am not dishing your work, just what I have been told else where from regular AC, highly respected drivers that's all.

It would be nice to have a Formal list for Classes that everyone could work from?

    Regards

I made this list based on the filters the game offers, when you choose a certain car in the menu. I don't know how AC creates this filters, so I will not take any guarantee that they are perfectly balanced.

When racing in MP with a few mates, we tried some of the low (A1-A3) categories and it worked out pretty good.

OF COURSE the performance balance of the cars will differ from track to track, because every car has its own strengths and weaknesses.
For example: a BMW M3 E92 S1 will be naturally faster than a Lotus Exige SC S2 @ Monza, because it's higher power output, but it will lose against the Lotus @ Magione, because it's much heavier and less agile.

Which represents real life, because every car has its own characteristics. Otherwise, it would be quite boring I think.

To get the real picture, you'd have to test those categories on different tracks. Best with a longer qualifying session and a higher race distance, because that's when everything gets settled. BUT always keep in mind that testing with the AI also has an impact on the outcome ;)
