1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Default saturation maps

So I was finally able to get a PC on which I'm able to turn the reflections on, and to me they just seem too bright, when driving with the onboard camera the reflections on the hood are actually a bit distracting, as if all cars had a shiny finish, not very far from this:
But when the cars have a matte finish, like the Grey AMG GT3, they actually look quite good and realistic.

My suggestion is: I'm assuming the default saturation map for all cars is plain white, giving them that shiny look, so isn't there a way to make the default map some shade of grey? That way they would still have some shine, and you could give a "chrome" look to them by using the map, but it wouldn't look like every car on the grid has driven into a rain of chrome.

Let me know what you guys think, and thank you for the attention.

The look of the paint is partly controlled with the alpha channel of the metal_detail texture and partly with the _map texture that is more complex than just shades of grey.

When I make skins for AC I am never certain that I do things in the right way because (1) on my computer many changes in those textures do not have significant impact on the ingame rendering except with extreme settings (which then work a bit like on/off) and (2) the final rendering depends on your own graphic settings (especially the amount of reflection and your pp settings). Cars don't even look the same way in showrooms and on track ^^.

So if the cars look too shiny on your computer, perhaps you should fiddle with your graphic settings, notably the reflection parameters.

Is there somewhere I can fiddle with the intensity of the reflections? If there is I'd appreciate it a lot.

Skybox Reflection Gain. It's a setting you could try fiddling with to see what works best, I personally use 70%. I forgot where that setting is in the ini files but it is a fiddle-able slider in the options menu if you use content manager.

Found it. Tried your 0.7 setting and it looks way better than default. 1.5 is way too much.
    Thank you very much.

I don't think it does. From my understanding your GPU will render the reflections the same way as before, and just make them more "transparent".
