1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

F40 and Road Cars in general

Because the video have some edit.

The F40 have turbo lag and only 5 gears. If you try to do a powerslide in a corner that you cant do the powerslide on a high rpm on the entire corner, the car cant do the powerslide.

Its easir on F50, and if you watch the entire powerslide sequences you will see C. Harris doing easily on F50, because the car have a NA engine, a better power/torque curve and six gears, easy to match on different corners.

Looks like they dont need to fix the game in their future patches as op asking for.

That's about what I can do as well. Be interesting to see what v10 will bring?

  4. v10 should be about the same, but the temps should be closer to reality. Maybe the inertia reworkings will change it a bit, but I hope the changes aren't too drastic considering how amazing the car already is.

Something that I found interesting is the difference between v7and v10 with gyro off.

Turning gyro on was like updating everything to v10 here. Before I was missing input sensitivity with v7.

Take a late 60s f1 for a drive in rF2 on the Belgium 1966 track. The car is a hand full in the straights and entering corners. Very realistic.

I know rF2 needs a lot of work to compare to AC but this combination car and track is done very nicely.

The Targa Florio is beautiful as well.

Having said that AC is still my favorite over all in so many other ways. Just look at all my thank you posts.

What do you mean handful on the straights? Do you really think you'd have to struggle to drive a car in a straight line? I think some sims try too hard to recreate how hard some cars are to drive, as someone here said, there are a lot of nuances in real life that we don't get with a simulator. We're not cutting our hands while shifting gears because the shift knob is horribly un-ergonomic, we don't have to put up with the smell of petrol and gas for 2h at a time, no mechanical vibrations, no G-forces, sense of speed, you don't have to take your safety into consideration. Most of the things that make driving a car hard are psychological, human limitations.rFactor always made cars unbearably snappy in weird conditions, in this way AC is sometimes too forgiving, but rFactor is the other extreme. You want to lose control in a 60's F1 car in AC? Drive on the limit and you will at some point ;).

In a real car you have to pay attention at speeds over 60 mph. AC you barley notice.

Can not think of much reasons why it should be handful on the straighs, except accelerating on very wet tarmac, or going really fast through really wavy surface. Not sure about smelling gasoline for 2h, I think something is wrong with the car in this case maybe ? Passing out in mid race wouldn't be fun.

I hope for the same, I know from testing XJ13 that inertia box is incredibly sensitive parameter. Plus the V10... So much to rediscover in next patch !

It is, but a little flat compared to the Belgium track in rF2.

Flat is a good word to use. rF2 gives a better feel for up and down than AC.

This is probably the ONLY thing rF2 does better.

If everything is perfect, why bother with updates?

Nothing is perfect, I constantly see niggles in AC that I want to be fixed, I report them, we are merely judging your perspective here :).So what you're describing is lack of elevation? Every game lacks this, when you drive the Nordschleife in real life it sometimes feels like you're in a carrousel (passenger), the game doesn't exactly simulate them, but I don't expect a game to cover every input and sensorial information that I can perceive. We humans are the ultimate information processing machine, we need to be overwhelmed in order to be impressed and scared, emotions, what not, I won't go into psychology and human behaviour here, but what you are explaining here is the experience that a game will probably never offer you, so why not try to appreciate the things it can offer? :p
@mantasisg 2: Weren't the early F1 cars susceptive to such things? I remember some driver interviews where they mention the always impending feeling of always knowing there's a not really well protected fuel tank behind your head, and constantly inhaling fumes and the smell of petrol.

Also, if a car scares you at 60mph in a straight line IRL it must be either:
1.Broken or very poorly made, or flawed by design.
2.It must have accelerated to that speed really fast before that moment

@Michael Hornbuckle: My Chris Harris moment is more accurate, I think it's due to the fact that we share the same name :D.

  18. Anyways, if AC was perfect Aris wouldn't have worked through the holidays (including Christmas day!) refining each and every car's physics (inertia values) and tires (heating values and added parameters).

If you want your wheel to shake at higher speeds simply add a good bit of the Road Effect. (IIRC)
