Generic Fog and mist spoiling the game

In the next patch can you get rid of the fog and mist please on the MP games. It is a real eye strain and it's spoiling the game. On some tracks it's impossible to see the corners.

 

Thats the point of fog, the vision should get limited and you will have to rely on other variables to still drive effectively. it might not be the most pretty fog but it serves its purpose.

 

It's spoiling an excellent game. At least show it on the server page so people can pick a race that's sunny if they prefer. Really frustrating when qualifying can be sunny then when you go into the race it's dull depressing fog. If it doesn't change I'll be trading it in.

Real racing takes place in light fog , rain night , heck in Sweden I even did a 6hr race in the snow lol

 

yeah but that's Sweden! It always snow there, doesn't it?

 

Thats the funny thing, so many keep asking for night and rain yet many wont even race early or late and in foggy conditions which will be much better visibility then racing at night or in the rain. The main thing I like about Pcars is that I can race it at night, in a storm and see nearly bugger all. Good fun racing and you really need to know tracks well to drive them quickly with limited visibility. In proper racing though even if sunny and your following someone closely you cant see much ahead, maybe we should make all cars ghosts so we can see the corner ahead too.

 

Just give people the choice, even in MP.

 

You have got a choice, play a sim or play an arcade racer .

Seriously you want to play a game that simulates real life racing you racing in all real life conditions.

 

If it simulated real life then the headlights would work and I'd be able to see where I'm going without having eye strain!

 

If you are having eye strain then that is on you unless you have some medical condition then there isnt really much reason why you would get strain. Well you are playing late at night or in a dark room then of course you will have problems.

 

I'm playing on a 48inch HDTV which is on the wall and I'm about 8 foot away. Fine when it's sunny but apart from that unplayable when in mist/fog, there isn't even any brightness adjustments in the game.

Either way, turning down the brightness and calling it 'fog' is not real world simulation, it's just a lazy way to simulate different conditions and as I've said in my opinion it is spoiling the experience of online racing. Everybody has their own opinion that is why it should be a choice.

 

I was about to create a new thread with same complained. Just left a server with the porsche 919. How am i supposed to brake in time, not hit slow drivers in the corner when i need to brake 100 meters before i can see the corner?

No high/fast racing class are ever going to race in such conditions! The marshalls cannot see cars coming, they might even not see accidents happening or cars stopping.

Please Kunos, decrease the maximum fog level/ increase minimum viewing distance with fog! To about to 800 meters. Visibility <250 meters is ridiculous. Fast racing cars cover that distance in about less than 2 seconds on the straights.
