1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic I stink in a wheel or happens to everybody?

  1. Haha, copy that.

You are welcome. The question is, will she "buy" it? (Believe it) (¬‿¬)

Hmmm, probably not. But if I continue to talk "..and because of that, I have enough money to buy the pair of shoes that you want so much..." , possibly she will listen more carefully...or not...but worth the try :)! The truth is, we, men, can win a race againt the most difficult AI, but we will lose all the discussions against our wives :(. But we´re always trying...

Road is amplifier but not Slip, you lose this effect completely if you set slider to 0.
Reason it's the only effect I am using with OSW (10%)

Slip is definitely an amplifier, too. It's not that pronounced, if set to zero, but the vibration in the wheel is still noticeable for me.

I'd be very surprised. Simple test, turn it off and spin tires at the start of the race. I don't think I am getting anything at all with it off.
Someone from Kunos posted a while back that this effect does not come directly from suspension thus not in "pure" ffb signal. Something along these lines.

Stefano stated several times, only the curb effect is canned. The other two are directly from the suspension.
But I think it doesn't convey spinning, but only scrubbing tires. As in understeer.
And why should it either? A spinning tire has no influence, not a kind of delta, on the suspension whatsoever, as far as I can picture it.

It is not canned, true, but it does not come directly from suspension either.

I have zero steering wheel feedback when spinning tires on start unless Slip effect is on. If it was just amplification there would be something w/o one, I'd guess, esp. on powerful DD wheel.

I used to it now, the problem is that in a road car you could do this :

But in Assetto Corsa you get feedback from the suspension that in a real car is filtered trough a power steering rack, and it pushes and pulls the wheel. You will get used to it.

In Assetto Corsa you get the jerkback that may be from the suspension arms moving or the car shifting weight, haven't figured it out yet. You just have to grip tight and hold on when it happens.

When driving on the edge in a real car I use small corrections of the wheel trough the corners to feel for grip, this gives me information on whether to push harder or hold. With the jerkback it is difficult to do this.

Some days ago, I bought a Logitech G29 wheel for my PS4. I never had one of these or else played with one, that was my real first time playing with a wheel. In my first day I played for about 5 hours and was not pleasurable. I only played Assetto Corsa in that day. I was thinking " Oh man, I screwed up, a lot of good money down the drain. Why I bought that thing...". But I always saw people saying that´s a great experience and stuff like that. So I openned this thread to ask for help, and I got it. And I really felt better and spent more money buying a wheel stand, nothing too fancy, but do the work. Let me tell you about yesterday, my second day with the G29 but the first after all the advices and with the wheel stand:

First hour - I did what @Seria17hri11er said about the FFB: Gain at 100, everything else on 0, understeer "off". I picked the Mustang GT in Barcelona only for the first test. So I exited the pits and in the first curve I felt the difference imediattly. Was waaaay better than the first time. I was not fighting with the wheel anymore, now it is my friend. I did some laps but I remembered what some people said: take a less powered car and race for various laps, only to feel the wheel, the reactions, to get familiar with the whole thing.

Second hour - I did some laps in Magione with some FWD and AWD cars. I was gaining confidence, being faster and more agressive, step by step. After some time, I took the Mazda cup for some laps in Magione. It´s a lightweight car with a RWD traction. After some rear spins, I started to understand the car and its reactions. Always running with default setups, I was not concerned with that in the moment, I was trying to understand the wheel. And with the new configuration I was having fun!! And the best, I was feeling that I could run faster.

Third hour - I was confident and wanting some action. So, I gone to Monza. I always wanted to have a good experience with the Audi R8 but in all games that I played, Audi R8 sucks. So, I took the R8 for a spin at Monza and, wow, that car is really good now! And me? I´m not racing the R8 like a lawnmower anymore (always in the grass lol), I´m in the track and doind faster times at each lap, now I´m happy!! I´m a man who likes to challenge my self. What I did? I tried to beat my gamepad time at Monza using the Alfa Romeo 155 Ti V6. Guess what? I did not achieve, but was close, only for a second. For my first day with a wheel and only 3 hours racing? I think that was pretty good!!! My first video is with the gamepad, the second with the G29...

Fourth hour: Like I said before, I like to challenge myself. So I gone to the car selection screen and looked to that beauty: the Lamborghini Miura. I looked at her, she looked at me and I said: "Let´s go for a ride?", she said "Yes". Some laps after, I said to myself: "Can you be fast at this?" Hot lap is one thing, race is completely different. What I did? Took her for a 3 laps race at Monza against the hardest AI. I got the fourth place!!! For me that was awesome, only four hours of training and here I was racing against the hardest AI and I got fourth! Looks promising in my ponit of view. So I made that video...

Resuming: I´m happy with my wheel now, Assetto Corsa have a excellent physics that makes me want more and those two, together, are a fantastic experience! I thank all of you for any help and advices. A very special thanks @Seria17hri11er and to @Ace Pumpkin, these two guys were awesome! @Seria17hri11er made that incredible tutorial and explained all topics for me, step by step. @Ace Pumpkin explained to me the Clipping concept, excellent stuff! I still have my learning curve to walk by and probably I will still do some testing with the wheel FFB. But in this moment I´m happy with what I achieved, not only by myself, but with the help of all of you. BIG THANKS FOR ALL OF YOU MY FRIENDS!!! CHEERS!!!

  12. You are very welcome! Glad to hear that your experience has completely improved.

    On the R8:

I like it, but for some reason a lot of folks don't like/hate it, and hate Audi cars in general. "It's so understeery" they yell. Ok, the R8 is a bit understeery, but dood, it's AWD. It's pretty much a trait of AWD. All you have to do is drive it right and it is very enjoyable. Always gotta have a wee bit of throttle through the corner or a wee bit of brake, otherwise it will understeer.

Now that you got your wheel set up well; New Challenge:

Go try to drift the E30 M3 Standard. If you were on PC I would tell you to download Modena Circuit; it is great for learning to drift. But since you are not, maybe try Silverstone. I don't think the Drift Circuit is good to learn on.

    Happy motoring friend.

I have to say that I prefer the RWD cars. But the R8 it's not bad at all, at least in a wheel. In a gamepad is a mess, in my opinion I have to say. But I'm happy with the experience. Of course, if I have to choose between the R8 and another car with RWD traction (any Ferrari for example), I will choose the other option.

Ok, challenge accepted! I will try to put that beauty to do some slide and let's see if I'm capable of it.

Thanks friend, cheers and God bless.

I don't really like the R8 in default tune either, the Gallardo is a lot more neutral but a bit twitchy.

Another easy way into drifting or learning counter-steer is a default GT86 on Eco tires.

Grijo [and anyone using a G29 on PS4] if you haven't touched the LGS, I would highly recommend the downloading it on a computer and going into it and increasing wheel sensitivity % and save it, it makes AC noticeably better during steering corrections:
