Marty's aussie minorating public servers

The server rotates between overcast and sunny so that the difference in track temp. I was just racing but wanted to see what time the softs could do so pitted with 3 to go. The stop is way too slow as it costs about 30 seconds so strategically sucks. Im sure with some setup work and a good lap another second or more could be found. Medium tyres can do a pace not too far off too. My setup was for I think a heavy car and I didnt touch it at all just getting the hang of the old car again in some crazy traffic.

I dont like turning damage off, people should be able to get around without hitting others. It would also be good if we could lock the pits so people cant jump back on track mid race after escaping.

If them wrecking their car and likely others means they need to wait for the race to finish to go again then they either need to wait or leave. Then next time they race they will take more care if they want to do more then a couple corners.

 

Yeah I was probably more annoyed with how I was driving and threw my toys out of the cot

started fresh with the setup tonight and eventually got some good times in the Tatuusfa1...

I've noticed with the new tire design, softs are actually still quite drive-able at 95% and I can finish 10laps quite comfortably

I havent actually ran any long runs on the softs, was just racing on mediums but put softs on at times. My setup needs some work though as I made changes for some speed and overall made it quite bad.

I normally would run mediums for 10 laps but I tried the softs for one race and they lasted till the 9th or so for me, then it was just terrible any real power applied to the back wheel for me at least it sent me spinning. The feeling was similar to what you get after you do a massive burn out or two, the back wheels get so hot that any power just makes them spin with nearly no traction.

Across the race distance they are pretty even for the most part time wise and the medium just lasts that little bit longer. It feels to me like the mediums have heaps of life left in them even after 10 laps.

 

Using tire engineer I seem to have trouble getting right pressure in Tatuusfa1 with mediums at present.

 

heads up Marty, on the Barcelona track with BMW Ferrari and Corvette not all cars are getting ballast... not sure if that was intentional

 

I just double checked the entry list and should be all ferrari's with 35kg and C7's with 85kg nothing for the BMW. This is off the entry list on the server so they should all be correct, the only way someone could adjust it is if someone with the admin password has adjusted their own ballast. All cars will be preloaded with the ballast and even if an admin was testing ballast in one car when they leave the ballast would be reset for the next person to join in that car.

Did you drive any car other then the BMW, the ballast is a bit out in that server with the beamer being a bit too quick. It will be adjusted later but in the log I dont see anyone adjusting ballast at any point.

It would be fairly pointless if every car had balast. Unless your just trying to make it a truck race or something.

 

Had a bit of fun last nite woth a few jumping in to the Nords race server in the Escorts. At the start a few of us wanted to go to the back so its a bit of after you sir, no after you at t1 lol.



Overall was some good racing, even at AB only though some guys dont exactly give racing room or know the track well enough to not be a bit hazardous but giving them a bit more space spiced up the other battles a bit more.

I have a nice one for Brands but unsure if it'll move nicely over to the ring

 

XGN is having a fun run tonight, will be unknown combos chosen by Wally with I think fixed setups. Probably wont be many on later but before 8 there could be a few turn up to the other servers as there is nothing to practice for on the race nite server as combos will only be up for qualy then race.

 

Weekdays I'm only online from 8:45pm to about 10pm - Daddy Daughter time is on before that these days...

 

Here was another race with less guys in, had a good battle with grat at the end. At the start I just had to sit back as 2 guys a bit slower were having a fairly good battle. MXU I think had a 350+ ping too so shows how a larger ping looks. The last km with Grat to finish the race was fun.

 

I had high ping, since I'm from the North East of America. I didn't notice the high ping while playing which is surprising compare to what I'm use to see at 200ms+.

I was streaming while driving on Marty server. I almost got rear ended because I was watching too much my mirror & took a bad line.

 

Racing on Marty's servers is really huge fun. A lot of respectful driving.
If the ping wasn't that bad from Australia to Europe I would definitely join more often.

Sure, but not every AB server I've been on was like that.

 

You should place the gearshifter on the other side when joining Aussie server to keep the experience authentic
