The big Special-Event-Collection-Thread

Hey I just wonder if i'm the only one around who has a go at the Special-Event-Hotlap-Challenges.

I think many of them are really harsh. For example the Z4 @ Imola or the X-Bow @ Barcelona Moto Challenge.
So i thought it would be nice if we have a thread where we could share 'Gold-Time-Laps' to help each other out.

These are the ones that i managed so far. (Mostly easy ones i think)

Us PS4-Guys aren't allowed to see any PC-Threads

Also i think the PS4-Version isn't quite identical to the PC-Version. We are at version 1.4 or something.
Watched some Imola Z4-PC-Videos yesterday because i'm still half a second of the gold award. But even the track (Video was one year old or so) wasn't identical to the one in the PS4-Version. For example in the first chicane there are huge bumbs on the kerbs in the PS4-Version, but in the PC-Vid there were no bumbs on the Kerb. The driver could just fly over the kerbs - not possible at the version i'm playing.

So it would be great to have a PS4-Collection.

As i'm not 'allowed' to read your posted thread: I wonder which Challenges are the impossible ones?

 

Oh, yeah, sorry. Well, since they are different on PC/PS4 then the thread with the broken events is irrelevant to you, you probably need a new thread. But for example try "Lotus Cup" (racing), I'm curious how hard is it on PS4.

 

It seems that comparing events on consoles vs PC doesn't make much sense because it looks like grip has been changed on consoles to 100% in special events, while it's 95%-96% on PC. So just the fact that the times needed for getting medals are faster doesn't necessarily mean that the event difficulty has changed, because you have more grip.
So to compare with console events with faster times to achieve, you have to select that event on PC, then change mode from special events to hotlap and change grip to optimum. That way you have the same conditions.

 

Hey Yeah, it's also not in my intention to compare PS4-Times to PC-Times. There are too many differences in the current versions. (Track Layouts, Grip etc.). Furthermore there is a high risk that it ends in the typical Ps4-vs.-PC-Forum-War. That's the last thing i want to provoke here.

Honestly i'm just searching for other PS4-Guys (+Xbox One - same version?) who are trying to complete the events and are willing to share their experiences, lap-times and maybe have a talk about the setups they used.
Unfortunately it seems that i'm the only one around who has fun with the Special-Events on consoles.

I will have a try at the Lotus-Event later on.

 

I wrote it more because of Rex's suggestion of comparing that particular event. So I thought it's worth mentioning that track grip is different on both platforms, layouts should remain the same and also weather and temp settings (from what I've seen).

And that's where I decided to give them a go on the PC (I don't have a console), because I've noticed that they not only changed times required for medals, but also added more grip.

I've been picking them off slowly, some seem much harder to beat than others!

Example, Ferrari Fxx K at Spa took just a few goes to beat the gold, the McLaren P1 on the other hand I am stifling to get Silver!

I managed to get the gold with Fxx K at Barcelona Moto despite getting lost and nearly taking to the full GP track a couple of time in the last sector

 

P1 at Spa



No faith in this car, force feedback is light and the reared likes to carry on rotating. Trofeo tyres are odd, I think I am driving them to hard and overheating maybe?! Figured out you can use DRS on the Kemmel Straight

Fxx K at Spa



Straight forward in comparison to the P1, it is going much much faster than you think, spotting those brake points is important! Use soft slicks

 

"Down the Hatch"



Most fun yet! I hadn't got my shifter plugged in as I have miss placed the USB cable adapter so using clutch and paddles, which felt a bit odd! Non ABS brakes are difficult to modulate in this game...

"Flight Simulator"



I can't remember much about this one other than it is travelling much faster than it feels!

I'm far from achieving gold with the X-Bow @ Barcelona Moto. I think i maybe could when i'd put ABS on. But i'm not interested in doing this, as is hasn't ABS in real life. When i touch the brake just very very lightly it just slips straight ahead.

 

I made an overview. Still a lot to do.
You can press on "Gold", "Silver", "Bronze" to get a video of the lap.

Tough one this, I understand the gold requirement is 2 seconds faster than that on PC.

Car is a drifter so setup was altered to get some grip still liked to go sideway if pushed a little to far, but was good fun over the limit!

 

"Let It Scream"



Nice car, has lower downforce than the GT3 version, needs its own online server for some fast one make racing

Not that happy with this one, I run a bit wide at Blanchimont

 

"Meet the AC Team"



New track for me, so had to learn they way around got lost a couple of times but soon got the hang of it Only just edged the target time but gold is gold right

Car is very much like the M3 drift from "German Fury" but without the adjustable dampers I found that a little strange as it looks to be on lowed and uprated suspension! Rear camber is bugged which really limits your options in adjustment. Good combo, reasonable challenge for me

Not sure about the switch to the dash cam, I kinda miss the wheel and the visual information it provides in clips, I might have to start including that from the replay as well as the recorded live action.

 

Could you post your set up for this, I'm on the Xbox one and am struggling to get close and suck at setups
