1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

[VR] Samsung Odyssey + GTX 980 + i7 2600k?

Guys, I bought a Samsung Odyssey VR yesterday, it's going to arrive next week.

I should be excited right? Well, I'm just worried. I confess that I didn't research about requirements to run @ 90fps or more on the odyssey before buying it

After the purchase was done, I went to YouTube looking for videos of people using GTX980 or GTX 1060 to see the performance they were getting on AC

I couldn't find any video of people using Odyssey with those GPUs, not even with 1070, I only found videos with 1080ti

And what scared me the most was the performance they were getting, one of them had 1080ti + i7 hexacore 4930k, and he was using medium graphics with post processing Off, and he still said that the fps dropped from 90 sometimes...

Só, is there any chance that I could run AC with it, without it looking utterly ugly, and without slowdowns that induce motion sickness?

I have the i7 2600k (overclocked) and a 1070. I can run AC on medium settings with the rift, no drops. Now the i7 is definitely a bottleneck. It's just enough to run VR but I don't know how increased resolution would affect it. The 1070 was fine, didn't have any issues there.

You will be fine, let us know when you get it.

Odyssey owner since Dec. 2017. You will need to turn down some graphics settings and experiment with grid car counts, but the Odyssey and WMR is pretty good with AC. If you start by just hot lapping you may see 90 fps, but as you increase number of cars fps drops off fast, also try to limit AC on screen apps. when running.
    Good Luck,
    Cheers

I only play AC on leagues, the grid can reach 40+ cars... The experience probably wouldn't be pleasant

In the end I decided to cancel the purchase, I found it too risky, it was very expensive and probably would be a headache...

I'll have to wait some more years to join the VR world :(

I know that the big drain on CPU is physics and AI. IF you remove the AI from the equation I would assume it would free up the CPU. But overall you can't know until you try. Probably best to either pick a rift or vive, or just save up for the next gen. I think the next gen could be some ways off though.

I think next gen is about a year away at a guess. The rift is great value these days and probably the best all round entry in to VR. I didn’t have any issues with an R9 290 originally and if you can overclock the CPU decently you would be fine

Speaking of Odyssey, Amazon has them on sale right now for $399 Prime Members exclusive, early deal before Prime Day tomorrow.
    Good opportunity to snatch one.
