1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

4 wheels out - 50 kph penalty

I agree, but not to slow you down in this kind of manner, its just not realistic.
What I would suggest (and I think I`ve mentioned this before some thread else) to let the user to have lets say 2 run offs (with a warning from the pits, some some other kind), but the 3rd run off will go Go-Through penalty. In the 4th repetition, 10 seconds Pit-Stop.

One more thing to consider here, driver must not be panelized (warned) for going off the track, but only when cutting and gaining the time.

What do you say? This sounds real. Personally in such a "realistic" simulation like AC is (going to be), we/you just cannot afford Slow-Downs like it is now (to cut off the throttle for 5 seconds), its just looks so Arcadish, isn`t it? :)

I know its some major step forward, even what concerns the code, but its a suggestion for the near future. I just simply love everything thats REAL, or at least connected with reality.

The forced slow down is about the only thing that annoys me about AC, so I hope it will be optional again.

This is what we really need. It may also go some way in solving the issue of getting a penalty for going off track if you are pushed off by AI or other MP.
Simbin almost has it right with R07 (I hate comparing games btw) in that you get 2 warnings in race for exceeding the track limits. The 3rd time you do so earns you a stop & go penalty which must be taken within 2 or 3 laps. But the major problem in R07 comes when you are pushed off track (1st corner at Monza springs to mind) and you are given a stop & go penalty through no fault of your own.
I agree it will be very difficult to code an effective solution but IMO it is essential for the longevity of MP.

Getting that penalty makes me pay more attention. I don't mind it at all.

I do like the phrase "wally brain" - is that a reference to Wallace and Grommet?

The hotlapping penalty is the issue here not race, Assetto Corsa doesn't have racing vs AI or other humans at the moment so I don't see why this is relevant, the issue of the moment is the penalty system that is really taking away from the gameplay experience in hotlap mode, it's not necessary. We should deal with the issues at hand before jumping towards the future, the system they use in races is a different matter.

The system is also in place during drift mode which makes no sense. I think most of us agree that the current system is not good for the game, I've seen it in discussion in every forum on the internet (aswell as multiple complaint threads on steam itself) that nobody wants the current system in game.

Yes I understand this too, what I was saying is that I think some people who object the removal of the penalty think that we wanted removed for races too, which is not the case (although I would like to see the type of penalty used in the races changed too but we'll worry about that later).
