1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    The Challenge.
    Car: Ford GT40
    Track: Highlands Long

    I guess i'm a little biased towards this car, since it's my personal favourite race car ever!And the most beautifull too, at least in my opinion :p some people suggested me a vintage racing in the past few weeks, and i decided for the GT40, because it's actually easy to drive for a 60's car. Sure, it can be tough at the first try, but once you get used to it, it becomes a friend. Good brakes for a vintage car, lots of power, and easy to save if you spin the wheels after a slow turn because of the mid engine. So, the fact that it's one of the easiest vintage cars to drive was also a big factor on my choice.;)
    About the car itself...well, i think we all know the history of the Ferrari-Ford feud, so no need to mention that. Assetto Corsa version of the GT40 is the one used by the british team John Wyer: a slighty modified MK1, with a larger rear end to accomodate huge rear tyres that could probably fit in a 2017 f1. A naturally aspired, mid v8 engine made this car the most dominate sports car in the 60's by winning all major races of it's time, even when it started to become outdated.:cool:

    This week's circuit is a bit of a tribute for the Xbox guys that waited so long for the 1.14 update :). Highlands is an oustanding creation, and it happens to be absolutely perfect for the Ford. I get the feeling that the long version of this track was a bit based on La Sarthe because it has long straights and really fast turns. Well, our car this week was precisely made for that track, that's why it's so fun to push the powerfull v8 engine to the limits on those really fast turns and that long long straight :rolleyes:. The last part of the track is hell: a some kind of brick road for the last 2 turns, really easy to blow off a good lap because of the lack of grip, so beware!:eek: This should be fun, i hope! It's my favourite combo and i wanted to share it with you, so hope you will enjoy it, and be brave, you will need it for a good laptime :D

    The Rules.
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Free

    If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

    Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday August 6th - 22:00 BST (GMT+1)

    How to take part!
    To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Ford GT40 and head to Highlands Long. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

    You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

    To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature and mode heading.

    Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

    You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

    A leader board will be collated on a daily basis to keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

    Feel free to use the unofficial leader board but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

    I think I may have an addiction problem. I drive a lap or two, then watch and listen to the replay; this is a proper car! I heard the other day that petrol engines will be banned from 2040 o_O - thank god for AC...

    Its a race car,although it has some street liveries.the road version was not so thick and powerfull.good handling for a vintage car,the brakes only lock if you abuse them,but its a bit easy to spin the rear wheels on low rpm on 1st and 2nd rear

    Oh it's a race car? I assumed from the image that it was the road version, but that's cool :) From what I see on RSR, the top time is a 3.53 so hopefully can get close to that but will be difficult under braking!

    Or @V8_KB could just go and do one straight away... Wasn't finished with my post by the time he'd posted so didn't see it :D Either way, that time mate would be RSR No.1!

    Did a 57.5 later but forgot to screenshot :rolleyes:

    First part of the lap is a bit meh, but from the two down-hill straights right untill the finish it's a lot of fun.

    The car is great, you were right Hugo, it does brake and handle amazingly well for it's age. Would've liked a 6th gear or more costumisable ratios but I suppose it could've been a 4-speed.

    Long lap, lots of time to make mistakes, and lots of fast corners leading on to long straights providing excellent oppurtunities to lose a massive ammount of time.
    Strap in lads! This one is a gonna be a challenge.
