1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

PHYSICS ACC V1.6 improved tyre model and DHE 2020 compound!

Discussion in 'ACC Blog' started by Aristotelis, Nov 18, 2020.

  1. well - depends.
For Example M6 was a really nice "beginner friendly" car. Now On Monza it wants to kill itself on almost every corner :D

you could increase TC one click...

  3. or, depending on car: 5 clicks?

He just moved all the areo to the rear, which of course stabilize the rear but make the car absolutely extremely understeer (which is also visible in video). If rear end is unstable as in video, so in brakes, I would rather start playing with mechanical grip to avoid front travelling too far down on brakes hence all weight will distribute more evenly and rear don't lose as much weight.
However if solution in video works for someone and he is fine with it, then why not!

I just tried to reproduce your issue @ 2020 Monza with the BMW aggressive Setup, but absolutely didn´t feel, what you are saying, not at all.

  7. On my driving style: M6, Ferrari (not evo), Lexus are failing on current Aggresive Sets. Aston V8 and NSX Evo didn't want to kill themselves. Probably much more tolerant for yaw changes.

Also changing rear aero to full aero on back will just eat up top speed, so it's not like "easy fix".

My point is: Fresh players, who could load Aggresive set and then just start learning to drive now cannot do it and need to sit on setup screen instead of learning to drive (which should be done at first). It's like after last tyre update ACC "lost a feature" which was lowering player level to enter ACC and have fun.
I know that "simracing-freaks" will go to google and just fix issue by sitting in setup (I will also, because making a set to drive with my tempo isn't a problem for me), but I'm thinking about new players.

There is no "drift fest" and no "wants to kill itself on almost every corner" with the BMW as you said!

    Do you have videos?

I don´t understand the whole story:

Why don´t you start with a safe preset?
    Why sit in setup screen?

    ???

  9. No I don't have video and I cannot record any (pc performance). Also - as I said: I don't have problem with making setup. I'm talking about general advice for fresh players "use aggresive set" - it's not applicable anymore.

From one of Aris videos (don't remember which) - Only 2020 cars got "correct" Aggressive sets.

That's why I'm asking: Previous ones will get update as well? It's highly possible that I phrased my 1st post wrongly.

You can always record off a replay instead of live racing.
Fresh players should use 'safe setup' instead of 'aggressive setup' to get used to how the car can handle.
    Well, thats just my opinion.

  11. you still don't get it...

ACC before tyre update for casual players:
Beginner was using slow Safe set > went to Aggressive set and could even have decent tempo online on it > maybe went to whole rabbit hole of creating custom setup (wasn't required actually to go there).

ACC after tyre update for casual players:
Use much slower safe set, or better have a lot of time to learn about how to create setup.

Am I the only one that thinks that it's a downgrade?

Maybe you need a steam integrity check?

If there would be "drift fest" and "wants to kill itself on almost every corner", you wouldn't be alone, but the forum is quiet.

I don’t think that it will be about integrity. It is maybe just about personal taste - previous DHD2 tyres just fit his style more. However I think that new comers who are not used to DHD2 tyres and jump straight to new DHE will not have as much trouble with them as someone who has been used to behavior of DHD2.

When I’ve tried DHE after update first couple of laps it was for me like “shhhh, it is oversteer as F” but now it feels just normal, without any oversteering, because brain and muscles get used to it.

In the video Nils explains - an adjustment of the setup is necessary, because the car becomes unstable much earlier due to the changes to the aero simulation.
The necessary changes in the setups have not yet been made due to lack of time.
The issue is known to the developers. Whether something will change we will see.

    As this is about aero...

...it wouldn´t explain your issues with the non evo Ferrari, as ist was redone completely, as it had aero issues before this update.

I guess, we all want to help and figure out, what your problem is, but then you need to explain your issue more detailed.

  16. actually - sissydriver answered on my problem/issue/question.
So I guess we need to wait.

Explained in #71. Cannot make it simpler than that.

No, you talk about tire model update, not about the aero update.

sissydriver´s answer is pointing to this:

    Totally different.

  18. my bad - it was together in 1.6 and I missed aero topic. Sense the same, and in linked thread - unsuprisingly - the same behavior on... BMW on Monza.

I've tried both Ferrari (Non Evo / Evo) at Monza today, no drift fest, didn't died every corner, just like the BMW or Bentley.
    Standard aggressive setup. Hmm

    Are your tire preassures correct?

  20. everytime - 5 laps, correcting pressures, going faster. Surface 23C

I would say that this tyres are... somewhat helping to save what Aero is... "breaking up", but they still cannot keep up.

Oh well. I guess the problem is for "casual people", they will probably stick with much slover safe set until Kunos will update sets to physics from 1.6.
