1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Yes, but the 65W vs. 95W TDP makes me wonder about actual OC potential.

You cant go by what tdp that is set to the cpus, that is for stock frequencies. When you overclock a cpu you usually dont stay within the tdp that is set in specifications anymore anyway.

    tomorrow cant come soon enough

Ok, to be a bit more precise.
I'm curious if the actual OC-potential is the same for 1700 and 1700X. ;)

So it seems like some results have trickled through already.
Apparently a 1700X has been overclocked to run at IIRC 5.6Ghz *which broke the world record on i think cinebench. It was sat in liquid nitrogen at the time of course. but the same test was performed with an intel chip when it first came out to see what they could get that do overclock at. So this is just a repeat of that test just with the ryzen.. Christ could you imagine a 5.6ghz 8 core 16 thread chip being used for something decent.. by decent i mean NOT a game, but an actual proper application like a 3d package..

    @Horus
Yeah i like those guys too. When i was taking drum lessons, there was two drum teachers, the novice and the advanced.. The advanced teacher was named andy and used to be the drummer for Robert plant :)
Nah i still have my current drumkit, which i wont get rid of until i get the new one. no way am i going without a drumkit again... (if you are interested, here is a playlist of me drumming a long to some songs.. theres about 12 songs or so in the list.. LINK )

    What does 'better binned' mean?

    Better bin = Higher quality

    Ok, thanks.
Maybe I'm not used to that expression and the german translation is not comparable to 'binned'!?

very bellow average benchmark review, should of paired the cpu`s with a better gpu as the article on guru3d suggested and 4k benchmarks.
Would like to see other benchmarks, like I/o DEVICES.

Something to test out the chipset and all that fluffy stuff, that maketh a system.

what memory modules did Intel have, were they quad channel or dual, What MB used,
did they employ the pet shop boys, the hard or soft options, which one, will you choose.... j/k

8 core`s 16 threads how about using xenon chips...
yet again only jesting with the Iranian website ShahrSakhtafzar I don't understand the lingo, got the translator dissabled.

anyhoo be sure to kit the system out with a nice Nvme pci-e ssd. (same goes for ya X99 users, you lucky buggers)

I`ll be very surprised, if gaming will take advantage of all 16 threads.(2017-20##)

  12. Personally, I would want a new motherboard/CPU/RAM combo if I was intending to upgrade. That is the only way that you would see maximum performance from new tech.

Seeing the stagnation of performance improvements each year I think a top of the line desktop system can easily run 4-5 years without seeming (too) old*, unless AMD and Intel will be close and have to push for bigger steps forward.

So a long support of a platform gives a nice option if cpu performance increases are big enough, but certainly not a main concern for me to choose between platforms.

*Might be different if you use it for work or do much rendering stuff, for normal daily use and gaming it should be fine.

Oh well, in approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes I will (hopefully) know what my next build will be.

If developers moved to DX12 you definitely could. I was looking at the CPU and GPU usage in Forza Apex and my CPU utilization was much higher at full res (in comparison to AC).... And the GPU was barely at half. I would suspect I could run this game at 4K 60 Hz with my old CPU... But I don't have a 4k monitor to test. Maybe one day if Forza start supporting VR can we get closer to a high pixel count bandwidth requirement I can test.

AC isn't really popular for benchmark reviews, but does somebody know a site that has tested with AC?

Can't you just turn on DSR and test? From what I've read the performance should be pretty darn close to "real" 4K.
Unfortunately I haven't found anyone that has it on their list of "regular" benchmark runs.

Im sure someone here on the forum are getting one and will be able to do some testing for us. :)

Sure, but to have a comparison to Intel i5 an i7 would be nice and I don't think someone will have both to directly pit against the Ryzen. ;)

Thats true. Hopefully someone with the same gpu and a i5/i7 can do some testing too.
