1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I run with Oculus, Teamspeak as well as Sim Commander sodftware, so I need more than 4 cores. Also if you run Assetto Corsa benchmark and running realistic settings your CPU usage is no where near 100%. Most folks are gpu limited. Min frames are as inportant that max frames and Ryzen does really well on min. Need really fast memory on Ryzen and need to wait for motherboard vendors to sort out memory in bios.

    For me? Flawless.

Bathurst 35 cars (plus me) ai race and the limiting factor is my gtx 1060, not the cpu.

As for AC with obs streaming, 60fps @ 3500kbps and encoding on very slow is a breeze.

  5. I am curious. Why would you want to spend money upgrading from a GTX 1080 to a 1080Ti?

Indeed, running a 1080 and getting a ti before a new cpu?
That's a stupid decision, your going to be even more cpu bound than you already are now doing that.

With 2X SGSS AC has my GTX1080 at 95-100%. The 1080TI is around 30% faster no?

AC seems to use as much GPU as you can throw at it. I'm not saying it makes financial sense but if you have the cash...

  8. I use 4x SGSS (for my Lockheed Martin P3D flight simulator) with a 2GB GTX 770, and my framerates in AC are just fine (at 1920x1080 resolution, and reasonably high detail settings).

I used the same track with 36 cars. I left MSI afterburner OSD, Vsync on for a more static result for the CPU usage.

    Note: this is with a i7 3930K with a 980Ti.

There's nothing reaching 100% usage & the game with all the cars on screen run at sub 60fps. Although, I don't get a stutter mess. Obviously this is way above 3500kbps.

It's a interesting scenario. Keeping the archaic processor is OK as long as you are running 4K, or Oculus (they have comparable pixel throughput).[note: I remember Kunos saying in one of the threads there're limitations if you have a 2600 CPU and race with AI]. You might make an argument for 1440 and maybe triples. AMD Ryzen was running their pre-launch benchmarks at 4K for this reason (look at reviews at 4K and the Delta is less). This keeps the CPU from being the bottleneck. I agree a 35% jump is not much, but I guess if you are at 4k 50 FPS and you upgrade then that would put you over the 60 FPS needed for smoother frames. 1070 to 1080ti would be a better upgrade jump.

  11. 35% is a significant performance improvement. It's just that I didn't think that a GTX 1080 would struggle with anything. Having said that, I keep forgetting that some of you run six monitors side by side at a billion pixels resolution ;)

I wouldn't say my new GTX 1080 struggles, I'm getting solid 90+ FPS, but my GPU usage is at 95-100% in AC which does surprise me.

The 3500kbps was ...like i said...in reference to streaming, not recording offline. But for people to suggest Ryzen is no good for Assetto is plainly wrong and misleading.

I would say decent, but they are probably right if it come for optimal performance. I'm mostly interested in how it perform for streaming modern games.

It outperform a 6 cores intel CPU on other task, so it's a no brainer to get Ryzen if it's also decent for gaming. There are butthurt users who bought the wrong product, but that's totally normal.

Here some interesting reviews of Ryzen imho: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/amd_ryzen_7_1800x_processor_review,1.html

Personally i've watched a lot of reviews, videos and also followed the official discussion on reddit hosted by AMD and i can say i gave my myself an overall idea of this new processors. First of all: I really don't get why people keep *****ing about something they don't even understand, saying that ryzen is bad, its a fail and other useless sentences plus complaining about something that was not never promised to them. Everyone knows that Ryzen is a fully new architecture that came after more than a decade of stagnating monopoly by intel but you are probably asking yourself: "what does it have to do with it?". Well, simply means that developers in the last decade have always worked on optimizing in majority only for intel cpus and this speaks for all the software industry: games, software in general, OS(windows) and so on. Everyone knows that hardware is nothing without a proper software implementation, so lets put a ferrari engine on a fiat 500 and then lets complain about ****ty chassis or bad brakes... funny isn't it? Anyways back on topic, right now ryzen is having some issues that even intel had when launching their products, so no, it is not only for AMD but considering the hype behind these new CPUs, many people were disappointed because maybe they were expecting full compatibility at day one. Unfortunately like every piece of hardware, software optimization takes time and you can't bash a product only because you don't understand how things work. Ryzen cpus are amazing considering how far amd has improved respectively to their old FX cpus. They promised 40% IPC improvement over their last architecture and in fact they did even better with more than 50% IPC improvements. But nobody promised to us that they were going to beat intel last gen skylake, so people really need to stop to be disappointed for that. It was pretty obvious that ryzen couldnt beat an i7 7700k on the IPC side, but still it is really close lagging only behind a ridicoulus 10-20% and destroying intel in multithreading performance. If you consider that r7 1800x compares to the i7 6900k and beats it at both single and multithreaded performance and costs "only" HALF of the price, how can it be a fail? Please explain me. Lets talk about the r7 1700 that goes against intel 7700k and both cost about the same. amd is offering you an 8 core/16 threads with only 10-20% less ipc performance over skylake but 70% more multithreaded performance. Back to the optimization subject, ryzen clearly need software refinement right now, like updated bioses from motherboard manufacturers, better ram support, better OS support and optimizations from game developers who can now take advantage of the new zen architecture. So, in a few months we should expect better stability, compatibility and better utilizations of this new cpus and right now is really pointless judging and calling ryzen a fail because it isnt. Raw performance speaks clearly and ryzen is really close to skylake IPC and even if who tested gaming performance, saw that there were issues and anomalies and how the cpu was not utilized properly. But, in 2017 if people still prefer paying 350 bucks for a 4 core/8 threads cpu that gives you 10-20 fps more in games(and not on all games) that already run at 100+ instead of grabbing for the same prices or even a little less an 8 core/16 threads cpu which is a much more powerful for multitasking and (if you ask me) more future proof, i can only say: whats wrong with these people? Clearly fanboys that like to get robbed from intel or people who don't understand much about tech in general and they only rely on other poor informed people. These people doesn't really get the incredible value of this new cpus and i fear that if people will continue to buy only intel because of ignorance, in a few years we will end up in a bad monopoly where you will see even less improvements in performance over the years and have to pay 500 bucks for an i7. Think about it

re.1080ti , my 2600k is water cooled and is stable even at 5ghz, single & duel core performance is also pretty good
-although a new mobo/mem/cpu I'd go for when something worth while if its a decent upgrade

I'll bench with my 1080 tomoroow then re-bench in a few weeks when I get my hands on the 1080ti -I'm pretty sure thery'll be a decent boost -not expecting the claimed 32% , I'd be happy with 20% though

2600k & 1080 running everything seamlessly in VR, 1080ti is just the icing on the cake, +it's not costing me much as I buy on my company & get the VAT back ( 1080 sold £430 )

If you do not get at least 35% you are cpu limited. Try running 25 cars!
