Race teams can be very sensitive about their data, the car is very new.

 

All the cars added during aditional seasons were very new at that time. I too would like to see more proof for that bold statement.

Agree, its a GT3 car not an F1 car, its built to very tight specific GT3 regulations and both the FIA and SRO likely have the aero data and such on the car. With a big enough checkbook you can go order one right now, and Ford who commissioned the car would likely want to have it accurately depicted in the official sim of the series it is in.

 

Yeah. And my logic tells me the implication of them just asking copy/pasting BMW attributes into it, would lead to BMW objecting because they'll obviously believe their car is superior - and different.

Not saying it's impossible, but I'd just like a citation or 2 about it.

 

UK BTCC sim deals have stalled in the past as, when it comes to it, the teams refuse to provide current data to the developers. The BTCC cars are all produced to NGTC spec and homologated, similar to GT3 but produced by small race teams rather than in house by OEMs. The BTCC racing is close, the teams are just very protective of their IP.

I don’t know what the truth it here but it just wouldn’t surprise me if Multimatic won’t release their aero data to Kunos.

Still, no proof that they've used the BMW aero. Just looking for the source where this allegation came from.

Wow. Considering how cheap AC/ACC/plus DLC’s are compared to the competition, and also how old both games are, that’s a very healthy number there. Fully deserved. Hopefully that means more goodies for us.

 

19 mio worth of game and DLC sales is very impressive indeed. I could imagine that the original AC might now be the most installed/sold race game of the last ten years (on PC at least).

 

Does anyone have information about the "fastlane.ia" file? I would like to create a custom minimap.

I asking it because Assetto Corsa Competizione also has one -> "AC2\Content\Cache\[track_name]\fastlane.ai", but it seems is not the same format as Assetto Corsa.

 

Oh... The guide to fastlane.ai from AC was made by trial and error. The ACC is much more closed system, there might be no guide at all.

 

I couldn't find anything, that is why I asked, hopefully someone would know something about it. But anyway, there is also the possibility to map the tracks.
