1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    As far as I'm informed Assetto Corsa uses vFOV. According to a popular FOV calculator I nedd something around 32° vFOV. PS4 FOV setting supports only values between 50° and 60° which to me would make more sense if it was hFOV.
    So to my question: does the PS4 version use vFOV or hFOV

    and

    if it uses vFOV...why so little adjustment possible?

    AC uses V FOV, excellent question, I am curious as well to understand why we have full range of FOV value on PC but very limited on PS4, and XBox, I am assuming for the XBox.

    I don't get that 'planted' feeling in the cockpit view that I get in project cars so far with the limited fov settings.

    Spent many hours getting the fov just right in pc and when it clicks it makes SO much difference. Suddenly you have a complete spatial awareness in the car and can place it much better through each apex. It gives you that complete level of awareness where you know just how much to give it to flick the arse end out and catch it perfectly if you need and I'm just not getting that so far in AC.

    I get a better awareness in bumper cam in AC so far but dislike that view as it seems to make the screen tearing and lumpy frame rate worse.

    As the OP says, I feel I need to drop the fov down further than the minimum of 50 to hit the sweet spot

    This is getting strange to me that we did not get an answer in this thread, as if I had to get AC on console, beside that my wheel is not supported, the lack of FOV adjustment would be a show stopper for me.
    All the other "issues" although some of them I understand might bother some, would not prevent me for going ahead, but driving a SIM with the wrong FOV, that is big no no in my book, is it coming later or is it that, as apparent from the little noise around it that console game racers do not get the importance of proper perspective and scale to improve the immersive sensation when driving in a simulator?

    Very strange decisions indeed regarding console version.. They wanted to reach the serious market and go with the SIM as their main selling point, but went full on arcade regarding the available options and settings..

    If they decide to make it possible to have lower fov on console they can have a setup wizard.

    Monitor size? __inches
    Aspect ratio? __
    Distance to monitor? __cm
    Do you want to use your correct field of view? Yes [ ] No [ ]


    This should also be a thing on PC ofc.

    I've posted about this in Xbox bugs section.

    I agree, this issue far outweighs fps, screen tearing and private lobbies.

    All the talk from the pc Ac players that this is a sim not a game. With the incorrect fov it moves into the game category.

    Though in sure this must be one if the quickest issues to sort.

    I'm also surprised this is not be flagged up more than it currently is.

    A smaller fov may even help with the framerate. Hope they sort it soon as I feel like I'm doing it a massive disservice driving in bumper cam

    Anything new on this topic?

    Regarding FOV degrees, what exactly does the console version use, horizontal, or vertical degrees?

    Does point of view make any difference in what the FOV should be?

    If so, I typically use cockpit driver cam (with hands and steering wheel).

    Just confirming what OP said, horizontal, not vertical degrees seems to be correct on console, any truth to that?

    I think ppl want too much for now. I'm not bashing on you just saying that we have to wait the next patch and after that I'm sure Kunos will reach to us with more upcoming features and pons for the next update.

    Agreed... what a good idea.

    It is a shame we have very limited FOV and also the lack of seat movement within the car. My setup has a fixed seat height and in some cars I have to slide further down in the seat to have the correct position.

    Just bumping this one back up... The limited FOV settings for me is a real killer.

    With my screen and seating position I need a much lower FOV and just can't stick cockpit view as I get zero sense of speed or drama

    I have not seen any response from them on it anywhere. Proper FOV and seat position would really make the experience so much sweeter.
