League threads on the AC forum

Hello all,

Normally i dont do this, but in this case(although it is a third party website),

Our site could be an example how easy it could be to attach an event section to a site,

All members can make theire own group, in this group they are the admin and can invite/exclude who they want, also in the group events can be made either public or private,
Public events get posted on the main agenda for all to see, privat events are only viewable for group members..
We recently restarted the whole site to be more Assetto Corsa minded (as before we where on ps3 GT5 & GT6)
All Race groups/ Race clans /little group off friends that dont have a homepage yet are welcome to start a group and/or make events, to advertise theyre own community or leages.

*open invite to all, no strings..

Great example sjonnie.

LFS added another league section outside of the forum (https://www.lfs.net/leagues) this is also be an example of how it can be done in a very simple and organized manner without the need of lots of administrating

 

Indeed another great way to get things going.. *Bookmarked the page, wil look into it more with my buddies..

Still... would love to see this implemented on this site, in any way or form

this de-centralisation of leages actually hurts the AC community, especially because other sims make such an effort to do just this..

That would be great. I don't want to go and sign up on yet another forum to get to a league. I've signed up on enough forums allready

 

So the problem is only another registration?

 

Registration, on one forum, or maybe 2 if 1 doesn't satisfy all your needs, plus keeping tabs on all of the forums you signed up for. Yeah, it gets tiring...

 

Usually organizers already manage their leagues on their forum. Do you think they would like to manage twice (on their forum and here)?

 

If there was a way to create them here, they wouldn't need to create them elsewhere...

not in LFS, not in iRacing. iRacing having their overly expensive system and LFS having this simple system which seems to do the best job.

 

Heck, if such thing existed here, and I got someone to host the servers for me, I would even create a league of my own here.

Now I got the point. You want to manage events/leagues without having own website and server hosting

 

mainly the own website. Server hosting you can find other solutions for (LFS doesn't have that either). As said in the opening thread and pretty much any other post, it's about reaching the community, not the organizing itself

 

You can host your own website for free with ProBoards.

Renting servers from rackservice.org is quite cheap too.
