MrMugel VLN Server - Nuerburgring Endurance Cup [MR-ABC]

Hi guys,

Once again I opened up my AC multiplayer server. A lot has happened to the MP, with Minorating and now improved collisions, what a time to be alive!



I have had a couple of quite good races on the Schwarzbierbude VLN server, but as it is often full, this is intended as additional space, there is no intention to replace that server. Settings are a bit different here and there, some other cars, more varying weather options. If there is any problem with the guys of Schwarzbierbude, please contact me here.

If anybody wants admin access for the server and intends to spend some time on the server, also shoot me a PM, as I´d like maybe 2 or 3 more dependable guys aviable to have someone on the server to manage things, skipping long and unnessecary sessions or kicking out wreckers.

I hope there will be some activity on the server. I would like to keep this layout in general, but am sure open to suggestions or special server setups on request.

Looks like we need a certain south german sports car with three number to complete the grid...

Looking forward to it! Everything is 100% for now, except for damage, have it at 50% now, so that you are not totally ruined after a messy turn 1. Could raise this, depending on how it turns out. 3 tyres out allowed, NO SC, ABS and TC on factory. Tyre blankets are on.

The different classes worked out well on the Schwarzbierbude and I think it´s awesome to have it. Not much lapping going on in three laps, but still nice to have different levels on the track. Didn´t like the Lotus GTC they have in the mix, so I left it out, never seen one the Ring, too.
Huracan will be interesting, had it´s first entrance in last weekends 1st VLN run there.

I´ve done some laps, creating setups for different conditions. The cloudy setup is 11°C air and 15°C now (Variance 2°C), had to use softs to keep any heat in them. Setup is really worth something in those conditions! Awesome job done team Kunos!

 

Sweet, I'll be sure to hop in for some races when I can! I sure do love me some VLN racing. Do you guys have some sort of team speak thingy or something that you use for comms?

Also, hell yeah for near freezing road temps. xD

 

No TS yet, could add that Mumble thing @ Rackservice if there is interest. But as the last attempt in opening up a server resultated in 1 single race in the month it ran, I didn´t want to purchase everything right now. Razercomms might be an alternative.

Also thinking about cutting the brits out of the deal, as they haven´t been seen at the Ring in some time, and adding some slower Toyotas as a third class. With 6 laps that could result in some slight overlapping. Could be intersting, Minolin put me up to the idea, we just had a 2 car race.

And pushing my luck regarding a place in the Retirement home for sim experts: @Licensing Master , any chance for that lovely new M6 GT3 some day?

 

So, after writing about my endurance race interests in the "Let´s play game developer" thread, I´d like to know if it´s worth it to announce a 6-7 lap VLN race this or next weekend, probably around 19:00 or 20:00 GMT friday, saturday or sunday. Should be about 1.5 hours with qualifying. GT3 class, M235i, GT86 and possibly 458S3 (to get close to the competing 458 Challange, don´t know how they fit between the classes, though). 24 cars, about 12-14 GT3s, 6 M235i, 4 GT86, maybe 2 458S3.

The fun part will be mixed up racing, if you get damaged, head for the pits, fix it up, get out again, you´ll find someone to race. Tyres gone, head for the pits. Want to start with 30l and refuel, try it. Maybe it´s even worth it to go for 2x tyre usage.

So if you´re interested and would like to participate in such an event, you could like this post or shoot me a PM, also open for suggestions there. If there is enough interest, I´ll try to open a poll or something for the date. If it works out well, it could be a possibility to make it a series event, maybe with points for each run, or maybe just for the fun of it. Maybe it would be good to lock the server and post the password here, to make sure everyone there has read the concept and know what he´s up for.

 

Very good points. I though about leaving fuel and tyres open for different strategies. I don´t know if going with 30l on 3 laps you can gain enough time to do a pitstop to refuel. But if you´d combine it with fresh tyres and some aero bodywork fixes, it´d sure be worth it.

Locking would be interesting to get closer racing, both has it´s charm.

I managed 3 laps on meds with warm weather without problems, I´d guess 4 would be ok, too. Don´t think they´d work much longer. That is with a setup for green temperatures mainly. You´re right, they can be gone in a lap if you don´t care for temps.

 

Yeah, with the cloudy weather, I could drive 3 laps fine on softs. Not much overheating, temperature was pretty much ok. If the race happens, it´d be more mediate temperatures, about 20°C, mid clear most likely. Wondered about setting quali in fog, but I think as the weathers are applied random, it could be the same weather for the race.

I'm not a fan of fog either but it looks pretty awesome at dawn! Really like that.

 

I´m personally very interested in "exhausting" endurance races .
I may not be the fastest (yet), but sure know my way around the Nordschleife. So count me in!

Looks good, some tight stuff there! And cars pretty much intact, can´t be MP... Will check that replay, maybe take some screens, too.

It seems like there are some people on in the evening at least, so if you want, go for a ride.

Probably including the GT86 tomorrow and some minor adjustments, like more overtime to make sure at least the competitive M235i can finish, thinking of raising it from 3 to 5 minutes.

Yes, please. 5 Minutes would be great. It really ruins my nerve to idle 20+ Mins in Quali because someone just does not want to finish his lap and then have only "30" Seconds to finish my race. (This of course applies to almost any Server )

Would be nice if you could replace most of the sls'es with amg gts.
