1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I can already see the bay flooded with deprecated DK2 hardware in spring '16. lol

WTS Used DK2 only 10$|€... hehe

It is not up to Kunos which headset they support, if they support the up to date SDK, they support whatever the Oculus software supports.
Why would Oculus drop support for their Devkits at such an early stage?
Not every dev will buy the consumer version immediately, why would they when they've already got the devkit to develop with??

Ok, so they're not going to support it forever but a few months, a year at least

What I mean to say is, it's irrelevant.
You talk about support for the DK2 and it becoming obsolete etc. like it matters, it doesn't. That's up to Oculus, all Kunos needs to do is code in the SDK.

It's comments like "I don't see why Kunos should waste time and money at this stage." that really really bug me, I feel like you've missed the point of the devkits entirely.

Just so you're aware, the Oculus SDK 1.0 (the final one that will ship with the consumer version) is scheduled for release at the end of November.

That means that every single developer who is working on CV1 support has from November till March (or whenever it's released) to get the SDK implemented.

It doesn't sound like Kunos was happy that they implemented DK2 support and then the Oculus software changed sdk to remove the functions they were using, so they're waiting for a final version of software before they bother implementing any functions for it.

Ooooor, you could read the post on the previous page which states that they are currently working on implementing the current SDK

Because they're dev kits. The majority of their customers won't have dev kits within the first year, why support hardware most of their customers don't own?

I would have thought the vast majority of developers would want to be developing on the hardware their customers would be using, not a redundant piece of hardware very few people actually own.

A year sounds reasonable. Although as (if) features start to break down on the dk models I doubt they'll be fixed.

The dks where to give developer a chance to get their heads around the differences in developing for vr. I don't think were intended to allow developers to have fully working, tested software ready for the release from f the cv. The dks will drastically reduce the time it takes for games to be ready for the rift after the release of cv, but there will still be a period of time where there's very little rift ready content.

I really don't see why kunos should invest time and money in a technology that hasn't even finished development yet.

I want vr as much as the next person, I hope it takes off and gets implemented into ac asap but I wont be surprised if it takes a few months, and I see absolutely no point in spending time developing for a product (dk) that's going to be resigned to the history books next year.

Aye, it was (it is still) a dev kit. If they support the deprecated hardware in future, then it is "good will" not more, not less. I don't understand what's the problem. It was always big and clear in front of our heads "DEVELOPMENT KIT".
Hm, how ever. May some cant read or understand. I hope for the DK owners that they show good will.

Well, that just proves that you have missed the point of the devkits then, nevermind.
Luckily Kunos, SMS, Frontier etc. don't think like that and as a result, we'll have some nice titles ready at rift launch

No DK consumer is going to care, they're all going to buy the consumer version. . . .

I'm talking about the small developers who are trying to start out and have begun with the DK's

    You're all missing the point

ok maybe I have missed your point, but its a observable phenomenon lately that a lot of DK owners (not you or me) are shocked, because it is likely that the Rift devs dont support the DKs in future.

They will not drop it at day one, but they will do it soon or more or less in mid future.
All other decisions would hamper further development.

Don't underestimate the value of having an early "Soft Launch" for VR by allowing VR enthusiasts to purchase DevKits; slip-up or mad genius? Oculus has pretty much acknowledged that the one of the best forms of advertising is word of mouth. Who do you trust more for information - actual users or advertisers and marketing execs? Oculus knows that they have essentially pre-sold the enthusiasts and hardcore PC gamer's on VR, now they can focus on casuals and mobile to expand the market in the future. It's all part of laying the groundwork for VR and launching with added momentum.
