1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Having thoughts of ordering one when it hits retailer stores, it just occurred to me that not only it will kill possibility of using button boxes but even make the use of separate shifter (H or S) or Handbrake extremely challenging if not impossible as well.
Anybody had similar concerns, what's the solution?

No problem using a shifter, muscle memory means you never look anyway. For button boxes, probably depends a lot on the layout but yes, it would be harder obviously. We will have hand tracking in a few years, virtual buttons

I use VoiceAttack for some controls - it's a cheap bit of software that allows you to assign voice commands to button presses etc. As Hippy says, the shifter is no issue at all - who looks at their shifter whilst driving? If you do...stop it....it's silly!:p

Same here, no problem with the shifter.

    Don't buy a Thrustmaster F1 wheel though!

Shifter, handbrake and steering wheel buttons will be no problem for me, like mentioned above you don't look at them anyway while driving. Buttonbox could be bit more difficult to get used to, but since my dashboard has different buttons, rotary encoders, toggle switches and covered toggle switches it will be possible identify the right button by touching it.

It more stuff like: where are my racing gloves or fastning the seatbelts that will give more troubles.

The most complicated part is that you are completely isolated from the real word. I always race with closed over ear headphones so i don't hear the AF, GS4 and the Buttkickers.

Combine closed headphones with the OR and you can't see or hear anything around you anymore.

button boxes may be an issue for me, thinking of putting braille stickers above the buttons lol

but H shifter and handbrake are fine, I never look at the stick while changing it's all in memory muscle

  7. Hang on, did you just say you wear a seat belt while sim racing?

I think the only real legitimate concern about 'health' in VR, at least from a physical perspective, is the development of optical accommodation and vergence in very young children. This is something that we kind of have to 'learn' how to do to see properly, and VR provides a roughly accurate, but far from perfect 'simulation' of these aspects, which might hurt a very young child's ability to learn to see properly if they use VR for any decent length of time.

Haven't really heard any other specific concerns, though. At least not ones with any medical/scientific merit.

Who cares 80% of the buttons are fake anyways. :p

the question should be, Who doesn't wear belts ? ;)

Seats belts are for saving your life
Didn't know your skirts needed a belt?

I allways race with a 4 point racing harness and simracing gloves. It adds to the immersion, but mainly the belts improve the feedback of the GS-4 seat. When i'm strapped in i can feel the panels of the GS-4 much better.

Today while playing Dirt Rally i did the "blind test" for finding the handbrake. At every start i closed my eyes first before grabbing the handbrake.

    I haven't missed it once....

    bigger problem for me:

Fighting for 5th place at imola when I feel an icy cold sensation on my neck followed by maniacal giggling. The missus had put an ice cube down my back and I Damn near crapped my pants.

VR needs some kind of proximity sensor

Are there any news when there will be support for the Vive from Assetto Corsa? Do they intend to support it? Thank you for your answers in advance. Have a nice ride.

The 2016 preview from Kunos only talked about Rift support.
Therefore I would assume that Kunos does not have any plans to support the Vive natevly at this moment.

I'd like to know this too, because I will get one of them but don't know witch one. I'm still waiting for Vive price announcement but if it's no much more than Rift's, and Assetto Corsa supports both HMDs, I'll get the Vive.

Is there any way to get official word on this besides the 2016 preview post not mentioning the vive?

It will reach stores but, at what quantity is unclear at this point. It seems likely that one may need to be very lucky or very determined to get one that way, at least early on. At this point, waiting in pre-order line seems like better odds and if one should become available for store purchase, cancel the pre-order. Eventually, they will be available though.

Current pre-orders are now July, and still limited to 1 per purchaser. I can't imagine the Rift being in stores before August/September
