1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Online multiplayer seems chaotic after 1.14) Possible solutions

I said it wasn't a good idea to leave the control of the multiplayer section to the people. I was right. You just can't give full freedom to the people (thing that could be awesome with some order), because this happens.

Here it goes the list of issues with the multiplayer section:
    • Idiotic names that don't make it easy to have a tip of what the lobby is about: "ps4 players are idiots", "jgghj" "Boby and Jules lobby" "Poweeer"or something like that.
    • Idiotic grids: gt3 cars with S1 E2, Alfa GTA with Nissan GT3, Escort with M4, 2 LMP1 and the rest with GT3...
    • Idiotic time or laps configuration.
    • A million different types of configurations (TC, ABS, ESP, damage %...) that doesn't satisfy no one.
    • The million new idiotic lobbies hide the official lobbies.
    • The most important one: very difficult to create new lobbies (99% of the times the game tells you "Error, impossible to create the lobby. Please try later").

Possible solution: create two sections, one with the fully configurable lobbies (private or public) and another with the official lobbies and lobbies created by people with restricted options:
    • The section "with the fully configurable lobbies (private or public)": exactly the same as the section we have right now, but, the public lobbies must be differentiated from the private ones (private lobbies name with some kind of shade).
    • The section with official lobbies and lobbies created by people with restricted options: the restricted options for the lobbies created by the users could be (inspirated on the official lobbies, that work great):
      • First you have to choose between race or trackday.
      • Session:
        • Practice session only two options: no time if the lobby is set for a race; max time if the lobby is set to create a trackday lobby
        • Qualifying: all the tracks set to 15 minutes. Nordschleife set to 30 minutes. BCC long and Highlands long set to 20 minutes.
        • Race duration: in all tracks minimum 5 laps, max 15 laps. Nordschleife max 4 laps and minimum 2 laps. BCC long and Highlands long max 8 laps and minimum 2 laps.
        • Race start delay: 60 seconds.
      • Conditions: free to choose except for track surface. "Green" I think is the more reasonable (it is the most standard one).
      • Assists:
        • Autoclutch: free to choose
        • Tyre blankets: on, like Stefano said, is the most reasonable because it will make the things easier and caos at turn one will be always an issue, that helps a little. Is not a big issue to the hardcore simmers, so everyone is happy.
        • Traction Control: Factory, it is the most realistic and the hybrid cars problem will be solved with button mapping.
        • ABS: Factory, the same as TC.
        • Stability control: set to "no", as it is on the official lobbies. Is the most realistic because there isn't "Factory" option.
      • Realism:
        • Fuel rate: 100% (most realistic)
        • Damage rate: 100% (most realistic)
        • Tyre wear rate: 100% (most realistic)
        • Allowed tyres out: 2 (most realistic)
        • Quilify limit: no limit, the max limit is 200%. With multiclass races that could be an issue.
      • Grids: you have to push away trolls but you can not use the existing predefined classes because that would wipe out awesome and realistic potential grids. The best solution would be to choose the cars between 2 (at max) of the already existing predefined classes (example: you can choose the cars from the "supercars" and "hypercars" classes). 3 classes to choose would be too much because the race would become on 5 vs 5 vs 6. Is like 3 races in one, so instead of having 6 users in a race with the same speed, you could have 3 races with 2 users in each one with the same speed.
      • Tracks: no restrictions.
      • Name: user can not change it. It would be automatically generated. It would have two parts: one should be "Race" or "Trackday". The other part would describe the classes involved on the lobby. Example: Trackday - F1/LMP1

Why not just run your own server as you want and race there instead of hoping everyone else sets all other servers the way you want them.

You just need to click "create" a few times and it will work. At least that's what worked for me yesterday. Gotta remember it was the first day of private lobbies so there were always gonna be issues.

I don't understand why PC players are entering this thread telling this console player how he should look at things. The OP brought up some really fair points and he did so in a calm, rationale, adult like manner. I'm sure not every single idea of his will even be considered, but some of the issues he's listed are absolutely fair to at least consider.

I'm here because the OP directly linked this thread to a different forum we both use, so I am here to encourage improvement, not belittle issues others are having that I will NEVER have to worry about.

Yes I think so, at least when you create a public lobby, haven't tried it with a private/invite only lobby but I guess it is the same.

  11. martcerv

Aren't you a PC player too ;) Having public lobbies will cause all the issues he has brought up but then also gives him full control of his own server which is kind of the main reason for these being added. You also are giving yourself some higher power here and also wanting to say who can and cant post in the forum and what can and cant be posted, this is likely why you fully agree with the OP as you don't agree in general freedom as this means people may do things in a way you dont like.

Calm and adult manner he used, but said idiotic how many times. :D
You give people the options of setting servers as they want and that's what they will do, no point then complaining if people set them up the way they want if its not how you want it. Separating official servers from custom is a reasonable suggestion the rest is him just wanting to make sure everyone sets up servers using the rules he wants them setup by. You cant join them all and if you can create your own who cares if people set them up in a way you don't want, easy enough to not join those I think.

He wants to set limits to how many laps a race can be at a certain track, he wants to set limits to track grip levels, assists etc he basically just wants a bunch of servers set up his way when I simply suggested he can just set up his own servers as he wants and there is no issue with what others do to set up their own.

The more options people have in creating servers the better but then no point giving options only to have someone declare themselves the new Lord and say how all these must be set. Many people play the game very differently to me and there are 1000's of server setup a way I wouldn't on PC, I don't need to make such a post demanding something is done to force everyone to do things my way. I simply run my own servers and join others that are setup how I like. If they are I avoid them and having these other servers just exist in the lobby is of no issue to me.

Possibly having server filters where you can filter by settings would be good for both pc and console to filter out those you aren't interested in. I don't think I have any rights to tell others how they may setup their own servers and call everything I don't like Idiotic (In a calm and Adult like manner)

First, read the post the full post or the resume at least. Then give your opinion.

Im not giving my preferences for the lobbies (if it was for me no TC, no autobilp no nothing excep clutch and factory ABS), the preferences Im suggesting is the best for everyone as they are the most realistic as they are the ones Kunos set for their official servers.

Im not negating the possibilty to create bizarre options, as I suggets two section: one with fully configurable and another with more serious options.

You are a PC user, you dont know what the multiplayer has become. Im not calling anyone idiotic, im calling the servers they set idiotic. And they are idiotic.

Oh, and yes, creating a server with my preferences is the best solution for me, but not for everyone.

If you are gonna scoff the post, at least read it jesus.

What I propose satisfy everyone and is an easy fix.

I read the whole OP. It's complaining on a ridiculously high level with the only true problem being the errors on lobby creation.

Console players can now have the lobbies just like they want - enough said. Enjoy the game or move on.

The cherry on top is you claiming to know the perfect solution for everyone and that it's an easy fix.

Why do you think its best for everyone? isn't it best for everyone to have complete choice in how they set this up. The main reason for having private lobbies is so people can set them up as they like not to set them all up the same as the official servers.

You don't think the same thing happens in PC servers? they do, but I have the simple choice to avoid them, the fact others setup servers you may consider idiotic doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to exist simply because they offend you in some way.

If it satisfied everyone then that's how they would have set up all those servers you are now complaining about and you would never have made this post. :D

You havent seen the problem, I understand why would you think that. After all the posts Ive made and you read deffending the game you think that I would complain with no reason?

Nobody can enjoy the game fully because no one is happy with the options of the lobbies, as they are very personal.

Yes, it satisfies everyone as it gives the options to people that want to race more serious and still offers the possibility to create full personalizable lobbies.

It is an easy fix as it only needs to create two sections (even it doesnt need that, as private, public fully personalizable, public serious and official could be differenciated with some shade) and lock some options.

  17. SlimCharles

    SlimCharles Alien

I didnt said that. There would be 4 types of lobbies (maybe not separated in two section, maybe it only needs what I said to ledude): fully configurable private lobbies, fully configurable public lobbies, official ones and public configurable with restricted options lobbies.

I did not said they should be eliminated. Read again.

    Sorry for double post

An advanced search tool would be a better solution, enabling people to look for exactly what they want, is better than stopping people from playing the way they want ;)

The Kunos created servers just need to be searchable, via a key phrase/word placed in the lobby name...

No, is not a better solution. It will help, but you will still have lobbies with very personal options.

That this has been said 3 or 4 times in the thread already means I've expressed myself very badly. No, Im not negating the option to create fully configurable lobbies (neither public or private).

More than other thing, Im proposing the creation of another type of lobby (that should be easy to find) with restricted options (the same as the official servers options) but with the ability to select cars and track.

  20. Reinart86

    Reinart86 Racer

But why oh why not make a server like that yourself? o_O

  21. SlimCharles

    SlimCharles Alien

Because it will have no visibility (Im not asking for lobbies with my settings). Im asking for lobbies with standard options (but configurable track and cars by the users) that would have more visibility than the rest (with some kind of shade).

The main problem is that servers with very personal and bizarre options are hiding servers with realistic/standard options. Lobbies with personal settings satisfy a lot very few people. Lobbies with standard options satisfy the same but a lot of people.
