Generic Online multiplayer seems chaotic after 1.14) Possible solutions

I for one am happy. The quality of pickup racing will go down but leagues are possible now.

 

Yes for sure a separate place between custom and public lobbies would be nice, or just different font style. I agree on that

 

There is a lot of possible solutions, but at the end is the same: possibility to differenciate very easily custom private from custom public from official servers.

To add that, I suggest the creation of another type of lobby (that must be differenciated from the other types of lobbies too): public with exactly the same settings as the official servers but with configurable track and cars. The cars should have some restrictions that I've already explained.

 

One of the "cool" options to be happy with the curent patch and the lobbys is, if you a member of any clean/realistic community! If you are you dont care for the "idiotic" servers! You play your own with your buddys and you know they play and set servers how ypu like (at least in my community have a realism factor and nobody use stupid electronic helps and unrealostic setting)! So ...is a bit too strong your thread ...we must be greatfull to recieve FREEDOM. And create servers....until now was the problem, now the only problem is , the TYRE Wear didnt work after the patch! But with the online feature they do a good job...in my opinion! (i understand your, but can be fixed if you group with correct people)

Also all this can be fixed in future patches, when they set a search Server fillter options (so patiense) , now is much more important to make server stables, and fix few patch errors i think...

  • En primer lloc ha de triar entre la raça o el circuit de competició.
  • sessió:
    • Sessió de pràctica només dues opcions: cap moment si al vestíbul s'estableix per a una carrera; temps màxim si el vestíbul està configurat per crear un vestíbul Tandes
    • Classificació: totes les pistes situades al 15 minuts. Nordschleife establert en 30 minuts. BCC llargs i Highlands llarga estableix en 20 minuts.
    • durada de la cursa: en totes les pistes un mínim de 5 voltes, màxim 15 voltes. Nordschleife max 4 voltes i un mínim de 2 voltes. BCC llarg i Highlands llarg màxim 8 voltes i un mínim de 2 voltes.
    • Cursa de retard d'inici: 60 segons.
  • Condicions: lliure de triar a excepció de superfície de la pista. "Verd" Crec que és la més raonable (que és la més estàndard).
  • assistències:
    • AutoClutch: la llibertat de triar
    • mantes de pneumàtics: en, com a Stefano va dir, és la més raonable, ja que farà les coses més fàcils i caos al primer revolt serà sempre un problema, que ajuda una mica. No és un gran problema per als incondicionals bull a foc lent, de manera que tothom és feliç.
    • Control de Tracció: fàbrica, és el més realista i el problema dels cotxes híbrids es resoldrà amb l'assignació de botons.
    • ABS: de fàbrica, el mateix que la CT.
    • Control d'estabilitat: En seleccionar "no", com ho és en els vestíbuls oficials. És el més realista, perquè no hi ha opció "de fàbrica".
  • realisme:
    • taxa de combustible: 100% (més realista)
    • taxa de danys: 100% (més realista)
    • Taxa de desgast dels pneumàtics: 100% (més realista)
    • pneumàtics permesos: 2 vegades (més realista)
    • Quilify límit: sense límit, el límit màxim és de 200%. Amb carreres multiclasse que podria ser un problema.
  • Reixetes: cal allunyar trolls, però no pot utilitzar les classes predefinides existents perquè això seria acabar amb les xarxes potencials impressionants i realistes. La millor solució seria triar entre els cotxes 2 (al màxim) de les classes predefinides ja existents (exemple: es pot triar els cotxes dels cotxes de luxe "" i "classes Hypercars"). 3 classes per triar serien massa perquè la carrera es convertiria en el 5 vs 5 vs 6. com 3 carreres en un, així que en comptes de tenir 6 usuaris en una carrera amb la mateixa velocitat, que podrien tenir 3 curses amb 2 usuaris en cada un amb la mateixa velocitat.
  • Pistes: no hi ha restriccions.

Is like what @Dyr_gl said. Public multiplayer is not possible on Assetto anymore. If you want to race online, you will have to search for communities. No other way (thing I will do).

Im not joking: if you want to race let say in less than 30 mins, there aren't almost no possibilities (as people for some reason set the lobbies with ridiculous qualifying and practice time). From those possibilities, a large number are bizarre.

That will help definetly. But with no possibility to see in some easy way which of those lobbies are realistic or standard, the problem will still be there.

Simple search filter gone a fix your issues, and im sure they gone a add it.. But overal is a good patch, who give us options to create own lobbys (all night racing with friends and community members, was awesome.., and when Button Mapping arive...gone a be amazing)

 

SlimCharles, do you have no friends or a community where you can drive ?

in our community are many fair and fast drivers and after a long time of waiting, we can drive with our own settings
on the servers. Most of the users want organise races with her friends or communitys, i think that´s the best way
to race together and not a radom race., with people i do not know. You know the guys, there skilllevel and so on..

Your heading with "caos" and "useless" and also "idiots" it´s a bit to much, this is only your point of view..

maybe kunoz will include a filter in the near future for the servers, but everyday at evertime the people crying
in the forum. Be happy that kunoz is hearing us and in the meantime enjoy one of the best racing simulation out now.

Let us be grateful and appresiate the work of kunoz. It´s not a good feeling for the devs, when they do hard work
and in the community is only screaming and crying.

What you consider ridiculous qualifying or practice times are people that are running a trackday lobby, they are not interested in racing, just doing laps with other people

What you consider to be stupid makes perfect sense to those that created them, you would do well to remember that.

 

I've already answer that. This will help, but not gonna solve the problem.

I'm on a league, but that's irrelevant. I'm not saying online private racing is not possible (is all the way arround, private multiplayer will be a joy), Im saying public multiplayer is not possible anymore.

You consider that a multiplayer is well ballanced when the 90% of the lobbies are trackdays? I repeat it, if you want to race in less than 30 mins, there arent almost no possibilities.

Before the patch 1 lobby might interest 100 people. Now 100 lobbies interest only the creator of the lobby. You would like to drive Alfa GTA with Nismo, or F1 with the ferrari 458?

 

SlimCharles i think you are the only person on this forum who wishes to play the initial multiplayer of Assetto Corsa.

 

@SlimCharles is like a prisoner recently released then confused with his new found freedom, he doesn't know what to do with it and dreams of going back to prison where all decisions are made for him.

 

Things will calm down in a few days and it'll be easier to spot the lobby you want.

I agree, as I thought I'd just have a quick look, then saw all the different configurations and options and decided to continue my solo career.

As I said, it'll calm down soon and the good stuff will rise to the top.

step 2) create a lobby and race with your friends
step 3) succes

 

I jumped into a public race this morning, it was a bit of a crashfest at the start but the ping was good and no lag problems.
If I am looking for a specific track or car I use the filters that are already in place and if it is public I jump in, cannot see the problem there.
I think it is a huge step forward but some tweaking here and there would help.
