1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Sense of speed....

I have no such issues or complaints with sense of speed or FOV. If you were to put a HDTV-sized empty frame in your car and look through it, things would look slow compared to the scenery whipping by your peripheral outside the frame. A sim BETTER look slow at correct FOV on a flat TV.

What you guys are asking for is a tweaked FOV for screen users who want that forza speed but want the interiors to look 1:1. Like a separate fisheye camera for the scenery and a separate one for the interior. No offense but I hope that never becomes a thing on AC unless it could be turned off.

I don't think this is related to FPS either, it seems to me a question of visual perspective. It looks like far objects pass way faster in Rfactor than Assetto Corsa for any reason, as Rfactor had more cone effect (what is far appears to me smaller in rF comparing to AC) and it gives more sense of speed.

I don't think it's a matter of FOV only, there's more variables playing their roles here.

so no good news then for us single screen players? :(

It's not that simple. You find it ok, great for you, but the amount of people who do not find it ok proves you are the exception not the rule. There IS an issue with perceived speed.

I wonder how the experience would change if there was just a bit more contrast within the track (asphalt) texture. That way the eye and brain would see more moving planes in front of the car and "think" we are going faster? I know this sounds a bit off but who knows ...

So did you guys try to up "Camera shake at high speed"?
    Quite did it for me.
I guess that would make it great.

I'm just voting the other way - I would hate to see the current camera changed from sim calculated to perception massaged.

    It really is settings

    Resolution aspect
    Fov setting

That's it, a point cloud laser scan will give a true representation

Read my post at the beginning of this thread

    Thanks

  10. I actually think the opposite compared to iR. Comparing the MP4 the AC version feels much faster compared to the iR

no no...I don't want the camera changed.....I just want things to move faster lol.

But how can they make things move faster? If the car in Ac is moving at 100km/hr that's what is represented on the screen right?

I know! I was just kidding :) I'd just like things to feel faster not actually move faster, I was just being silly ;)

haha...so which sims/games do you think have a good sense of speed?

iRacing does it pretty well as does rFactor...but physics wise they are inferior to AC imo :)

I don't see why this can't very simply be addressed by adding motion blur. A simple adjustable slider in the options for peripheral motion blur would be the answer. No one is disputing the accuracy of the track or the parts of the car interior that are in focus. Nor are we saying that in real life the objects outside should be moving past us faster... we're just saying the "SENSE" of speed isn't there - and I'm advocating the use of more motion blur.
Typically in more arcade style racers (NFS) this is done by creating gradient blur - more blur to close objects (like curbs, lines and nearby trees) and less to further objects (like more distant trees, billboards, landscapes).

Reading through the thread shows plenty of exceptions, then. From what i can understand, it all comes down to personale taste, settings and hw setup (and yes, i have triples and i bought them just to have a better sim-driving experience: and yes, it works on all sims giving better immersion and sense of speed).
I am not saying you are wrong, but i can't say you are totally right as well: frankly i don't see what devs could do to help in this "issue".

It's just that motion blur is unavailible with a triple screen setup.

Motion blur for one thing deteriorates performance and secondly, only add some blur (DUH) not sense of speed.
