Yeah. We can never have enough Lotuses...I always hope that I can catch a Lotus when I enter SF

 

Shouldn't be that hard, I'm sure you can catch a Lotus even with a single bare hand. Try that with a Mustang and your hand goes MIA.

 

Such pleasent, close racing for me tonight. I feel the need to thank everyone involed in running these Streetfight servers, so Thank You!

@DuckeyTapey in the Vette (man, it's a$$ doesn't look as big as he makes it seem on track ) and Azjera Kovacs in the Evora.

How the hell does @DuckeyTapey managed to hit and release the brakes so fast? Looks almost like AI driving Awesome battle btw

 

I remember racing a guy called "DuctTape" a long time ago on aloog1 and back then he was using a keyboard. I don't know if it's the same guy though..

What a lovely track and so well done! Let's keep it coming every now and then - people need to get used to it. Was a mixed bag with very good racers, racers wich lack of track knowledge and not so good racers ;-)

The conclusion is wrong. People can be alien fast on all kinds of input device. But IIRW he drove the RX7 yesterday and it didn't look like KB driving to me.

 

You can be fast with a controller, but not with the keyboard. At least not on the SF servers where most of the helpers are not permitted.

Nevertheless you can see some guys joining the servers that are clearly trying to drive with the keyboard. For whatever reason …

T2 is rather straight forward.

The next part though is tricky and also depending on the car you use.

A Exige/Evora might get away with lifting or a slight brake tap, the SLS needs to brake for the kink.
It's basicly what Aris said in the first video, use as much track as possible in and out of T3 without hitting the wall and then find the braking point for T4.

But T4 depends on the car, with the SLS you need to place the car that you have good traction, otherwise you will fight massive oversteer.
A Lotus can carry a bit more speed as it doesn't have such big traction issues.
The 4WD (like R8) you just need to slow down enough, take a narrow line and then use the traction of the car to accelerate out of it. I doubt you will be faster with the R8 (and similar cars) by trying to carry the speed through T4.

 

Yes, that's me from Aloog 1 back then, and I'm still racing on mouse+keyboard . That's why you see my brakes blinking from trying to trailbrake for example.

 

I use the mouse and keyboard.

Mouse for steering, keyboard for everything else..











Of course I'm kidding, but I had you for a moment... right?
(Edit, just read that @ducktapey does use keyboard and mouse. Makes this much less funny)

 

I use the keyboard for typing stuff in chat when I am in the pits. Does that count?

 

Mouse-steering can be ok, if you practice a lot, but (digital) keyboard steering in a sim without helpers … forget it.

Edit: although in either case I don't get why you would buy AC but not a wheel.
Any FFB wheel is such a big upgrade compared to mouse or controller.
At least in terms of feeling.
