1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

  1. LOL...yeah, the reason Stefano and the rest of the Kunos guys didn't stop updating the game years ago is all because of the people they ban from here.

If you're good at matching revs, there's absolutely no reason to use the clutch pedal in a non-synchro'd gearbox.

Straight from Hewland, who should know a thing or two about it: http://www.hewland.com/advice-faq/ (expand the last question)

And a video of Montoya shifting a straight-cut manual without manually disengaging the clutch first:

In a street car with an H-pattern obviously you should be disengaging the clutch on upshifts and heel-and-toe'ing on downshifts to ensure smooth shifts. But something like, say, the Lotus 49 with a 5-speed Hewland? LFB all day, every day.

They seem to have persisted in that way for quite a while. Maybe there's another hole we don't know about, for the breathing?

Actually it doesn't matter if it's syncro-box or not. Rev'matched gears will go in and there's not really a reason to use heel&toe if you're a left-foot braker (other than gearbox wear). The human error (revs not that matched) will wear the gears for sure and its obviously more risky and requires precision.

What I don't like in AC gearbox damage design is the continuous damage if the physical shifter is in the gear and in-game it isn't. Yeah, I would've damaged the gear teeth with my error but after the initial "gear grind" I would never continue to force the gear in and wear the teeth further. So many times I have been already fighting the car into corner and realizing the in-game gear was not engaged, while my physical shifter obviously was, causing unnecessary damage to the gearbox. :(

    His first draft thought process

New Assetto update is really good, but what can I find bad to say?

    1- Blame Kunos for listening!
2- Make the community think that they coded the new features!
3- Ignore the fact that Assetto came out before Project Cars and outlived has continued to receive completely free updates that have expanded its features continually over the last 2 years
4- Give a compliment then poke the developer of said update in the eye!

Let me just say I for one am thankful that we support a developer that isn't just thinking about what game is next but has grown it's baby from a single track with a few cars into what it is today.

There's a simple rule in development. Everything is easy and quick to do until you have to do it.

Stefano and the teams arguments about implementing features has never been about being a lazy developer but rather a choice of priorities. As the sim has developed new things become the next priority.

I refuse to also that website to load on my computers. That loser actually said something nice about Assetto Corsa? What was he praising? When I stopped reading that pathetic blog many, many months ago he hated EVERYTHING about Assetto Corsa, Kunos Simulazioni, the clothes Stefano wore, Aristotelis's first girlfriend, the color of Marco's eyes, etc...

It really shows the mindset that someone has, and the character they possess when they frame an article like that.

To praise the community for complaining about the AI... which is subtly hinting at the author trying to praise himself as he thinks he is the bastion for calling for improvement of any feature in any game... instead of praising Kunos, or more specifically Stefano for improving the AI. And I seem to recall Stefano himself said a few years ago that he was out of ideas on how to improve the AI from where it was at that time period. For Stefano to figure out how to get the AI to pass when it previously wouldnt even think about passing is a huge accomplishment and something worth praising and commending.

Along with all the other work that made the AI battle you more, pressure you without doing dumb dive bombs, maintain their lines when you pressure them or divebomb, draft you on a straight, etc. What Kunos has done for the AI in this update is quite inspiring. If they can improve the AI as much as they have in this update, after years of work... I can see future tweaks happening to refine some of the less than ideal behavior that is still outstanding. Such as the AI going a bit wide on exit if they try to go 2 wide through a corner, resulting in an off track crash or hitting a bumpy kerb like T1 at RBR.

As a primarily single player focused sim-racer, the future for AC is now brighter than ever in my opinion. Whether that means more improvements to AC itself, or a future release of a 'AC2' down the road, I have no doubt that Kunos will continue to do all they can to give us as enjoyable of an experience as they can. And for that, I certainly appreciate all the work that goes into the development of the game from the entire Kunos team. :)

    Cheers

By using the reasoning Ive learned by reading PRC we can now see that Austin call Ian his God: "I mean, thank God I own a solid PC". For you guys that dont understand what Im talking about, Ian Bell gave Austin a new PC a couple of months ago.
