1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

after reading this post I checked my Win 10 version ... was saying 1803 installed pending reboot

Just had one race of AC after the reboot but everything worked ok wheel/VR wise.

Ok final update. After spending the day yesterday recovering everything back to how it was before 1803 I woke up today and win10 had updated again to 1803. So I decided to try the Restart This PC feature under updates and security. Had reinstall a lot drivers and things but not to bad. Glad to report now everything is better than before. If you are having any issues with 1803 I recommend trying the Restart This PC feature

In case some Windows users still do not know how to block enforced updates:
    https://www.computerworld.com/artic...il-2018-update-from-installing.html?nsdr=true

Note that the reports are growign that the metered connection trick more and more often gets breached by Microsoft, and also many reports have come in that users trying to deflect the 1803 upgrade nevertheless have been pushed to it, although they tuned settings so to stay with 1709 or 1703.

Never take it for granted these days that Microsoft takes your No for a No anymore. Which is not new, it has been part of their policy since they started to attack Windows 7 users two and three years ago in an attempt to bypass their defences and sneak Windows 10 onto these users' HDs - against their explicit will and settings.

Thats part of their new "Windows as a service" mouthstool.

Those people who - like me two years ago - want to run an older windows version without the messy patches of the recent two to three years, need to have an ISO without patches from that era, and then isolate their Windows from the telephone line to big mama in Redmont. Such ISOs should NEVER be gotten from a Microsoft site, for then Microsoft has all control on the code - and altering it to their liking, having wanted patches (in their interests) mandatorily included. If you want an old Windows installed on your - probably older - hardware again, get your Windows 7 ISO from this source that despite the name and looks has nothing to do with Microsoft and is said to be reliable nevertheless. Just the ISOs, no patches ? - Go here:

    http://windowsiso.net/

As usual, my recommendation to run two systems these days: one with Windows 10 Pro as gaming console and only for that and nothign else, and a Linux system for EVERYTHING else. I do like this myself since long, since over two years. First it was Windows 7, unpatched since summer 2015, and completely isolated from Microsoft (to my best ability and knowledge), and Linux Mint on a second notebook; now it is new gaming hardware and Windows 10 Pro, and still Linux Mint on a separate notebook.

Just curious what is it "everything else" that you are using Linux for on your personal home computer.

I lost my Fanatec Wheel last night after the update.
Rolled it back to 1709 and all is good again.

Why not just reinstall the drivers for it? I believe there’s new ones as well recently

    patched
Browsing. Emailing. Route planning. Some photo and picture editing. Text processing. Amazon. Some simple excel-style tables. Homework like that.

I even keep photo and text databases no more on internal HD, but external data carriers. Certain carriers I only plug in after cold reboot and physically disconnectin from the web. Fear is not for them getting stolen and used against my permission, but such libraries getting infested by malware and persistent cookie stuff.

No Twitter, Facebook or comparable stuff in use here. Autoscritping, cookies, popups, Java is limited as far as possible without loosing vital operationality. Needless to say: auto-completion, password storage and all these follies are not in use on any rig. The more comfortable the browsing is, the more the system is prone to getting corrupted.

There is no way to compute really safe online. People take gambles all the time. Its just that most are not aware of it, do not look deep enough. But the same people leave their house and then lock the doors behind them, turning the key twice. I laugh about that double-standard.

There are new ones. But it was just before a racing session and I didn't want to stuff around with things. But Win 10 updates are a pain in the arse. Cause nothing but stress and hours of tweaking afterwards.

Or just reinstall drivers, 2 minutes max. It happens also to me and work after reinstalling drivers, no need to roll back.
    @ Skybird : aren't you a bit paranoid ?

Yeah I think my problem was that my old install was an upgrade from win7. Once I did Reset This PC everything is better on 1803. It almost feels like I have new hardware. []>》

We saw so many issues with post upgrade installatioms of Win10 that we ended up resetting Windows after doing the upgrade as a matter of course.
