1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Well of course I compare an AC lap by a quick driver from my ignore list to RL...why wouldn't I?
Your opinion is worth to me as much as any other in here and based on the videos I don't exactly see it backed.
Also don't know what's wrong with checking the RWS in AC...mid corner understeer could well be caused by a misalignment here.

Seeing the AC lap is behind slightly at the apex of t1 and well ahead at the apex of the last turn it seems they arent too far off here, Im sure in AC William could go faster just as the guy in the real car could if they had a few more laps and pushed just a bit more as I doubt either is close to a perfect lap. Has anyone here actually ever done a lap at Nords they feel would be nearly impossible to go quicker?

In my opinion the real life dude had better tire grip while not having optimal road surface, temperature, etc. As for the game in my opinion the car behavior is quite representative of the real thing aside for a little bit less traction. In my opinion if it was on V7 the steering input, technique, etc would be more off. Technically again in my opinion William run should be at least 7sec faster.

If you listen to the real life footage audio & method used, in my opinion it seem to be in the ballpark. AC doesn't simulate everything, nor being perfect, but it's impressive & I don't think the competition is even close while having less of simulated stuff.

There's a difference between mostly correct handling & simulate more stuff. Yeah sure, others simulates more stuff, but doesn't really handle or behave in a way or even close the real thing does. Seriously, if because it simulate more stuff but way off the mark like most arcade game, should it be called a sim?

Just because it lack of more simulated stuff & drive more closely on part with the real thing is not a sim, because it doesn't simulate more stuff thus end up being simcade or pure arcade?

If people don't comprehend this concept, obviously I'm not surprised they receive the ban hammer.

If I use "in my opinion", is what I believe, but not a fact.

It is a little bit harder to compare due to different gearboxes. It is also hard to tell how much this car benefits from pdk gearbox. Car manufacturers nowadays rarely time their cars with a stick if there is also a flappy paddle option. The only exception I know is alfa giulia quadrifoglio. It did 7:39 with manual and 7:32 with 8-speed zf auto.

psm basically is an esp, why do you want to drive a car on track with electronic assists on?

Consider that this specific car had 26 extra HP.

I never said I wanted that.
But if you ask me: I would like to drive with whatever assists are still on during these RL tests so we can properly compare AC vs, say, Sport Auto.
In normal racing or hotlapping I only use factory ABS in AC.

All cars today have a hidden ESP that can't be disabled, if they remove that system they lose 2 stars in the EURO NCAP test. You can turn it down but technically there are no cars that run without.

Was William driving @ Optimum etc?

I'm always driving @ 15 degrees and green fwiw.

    ESP can't be disabled?

If I turn off DSC/TC etc in my car and go WOT there is nothing what will help me, just me, my reactions and the car.

    Cheers

  14. Green is a very, very slippery day now... It's not like before, it's way too slick to use anything less than "Fast" and "Optimal" now for normal conditions laps.

The 944 Turbo is the only Porsche that is easy to drive, the rear engine ones are always trying to kill you.

The old ones are slow in fast out and braking i a straight line, the new ones they have electronic aids that help.

I was a passenger in a friends GT3 going 260km/t over flugplats and it just feels dangerous.

7:53 from good AC driver vs 7:48 from good RL driver. Given the power and garbox disadvantage that's mucho in the ballpark. Can @MrDeap make another side by side video?

This thread should be renamed to sport auto supertests vs AC :D

Btw next sport auto issue Ferrari 488 GTB

    on michelin pilot sport 2's!

    Video coming in few days.

  19. I said take out 5s to account that they leave out the small pit straight.... (someone pls tell him since he has me on ignore...)

    Bonus:

Porsche 918 on HR tyres (Hotlap mode), 6:56.8 with a sloppy lap (so like 6:52 prolly without the straight). Car is weird, dont like it.
