The highlight from the Bonus Pack is finally here on the Weekly Hotlap! One of the most beautifull cars ever made and greatly recreated by Kunos,this vehicle is,hands down,the best thing that came with the lastest pack.
It was born in 1967,based on the racing variant that carried the same name,and the firsts of the 18 Stradales made were built side by side with the race version.One of the first particularities of this car it's that it was the first ever production car to feature the buttlerfly doors.Also the headlights are worth mentioning a few words: only the two first cars had the dual headlight shape that we can see and enjoy in our living rooms.The rest of them had to have another arragement due to regulations on minimal headlight distance to the ground.
Less than a year after being revealed at the Turin Motor Show, the 33 became the most expensive vehicle ever: it was sold by a record 17.000$, when the average price of a car was around 2.000$.Keep in mind that the Lamborghini Miura was around the markets at the time,which makes this record even more impressive! Currently,it's value is estimated at around 10 million dollars.
About the engine and performance of this beauty...it has 230 bhp,capable of reaching 260 km/h.What's best is that it only weights 700kg,which means that it's a Speedy Gonzalez on tracks (and roads): 5,5 seconds from 0-100 km.There are many current sportcars that can't match this numbers,it's very impressive to see a road car with more than 50 years with this type of performances. Being faithfull to mid engine cars tradition,it's very balanced and it's quite easy to get around too,wich means it's a fun car to drive on pretty much every track you can possibly think of. Sure it doesn't have top notch brakes and slides a bit around if you push it too much.But isn't that the charm of the old stuff?



I decided to went full vintage and therefore classic Silverstone will be the groundplay for this week. There is something odd about driving an old car in a modern track,and this beautifull machine deserves better than that.Again,it's such an easy car to drive that every track is like a road to heaven with it.Classic version of Silverstone has perfect turns for a light feather vehicle to go around.

Time of day: Free
Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
Setup: Free
Controller: Free
Assists: Factory
Stability: Free

If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

Sunday April 22th 2018 - 22:00 GMT.

How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and head to Silverstone 1967. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.Also,to avoid mistakes on laptimes,please enter them with the format x.xx.xxx. This format makes it easier to work with Excell.
A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

Feel free to use the unofficial leaderboard but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

A request for everyone who participates (not quite a request,it's going to be a rule actually): from now on,please enter your laptime using dots,like x.xx.xxx. Not 1:20:000,not 1,20,000 but 1.20.000. I use an excell spreadsheet to orgazine laptimes,and excell wont acept commas and two dots to sort laptimes.That way,i can simply copy-paste your laptimes,it ill make my life much easier and reduce errors

Awesome car and nice timing as well. I was racing in the Stradale at Mugello last night, so had to give it a quick go tonight.
Keep in mind you can change brake bias from cockpit (but not from pits), 37psi all around is the optimal pressure.

Loads of fun this combo. First time I've driven this car or track so hoping to bring this down a touch over the next few days. Definitely not getting a few corners right as the exit speed could be much better in places.

So I ended up doing a few more laps than I was expecting too because this is a fun combo, also because RSR didn’t record my fastest lap (which was a 1.39.723)


I was understeering through the last corner really badly, but I knew I was a on a PB lap so I kept it to the floor and crashed myself across the finish line lol! The game counted the lap I was on, but disallowed the next lap of course, but RSR didn’t count either lap.
So I had to get back on the horse and do it properly. Turns out I couldn’t beat the fast lap but I came damn close.

This has made me not work very much on a Monday afternoon! Super challenge, love the ambiguity of this circuit - err, where exactly do I brake, when do I turn in and with how much lock?
Interested to see the expert view is 37psi for ideal tyre pressure. I started running with tyres at default (38ish psi) and was lapping low 1.43s, but came over all Hunter S Thompson and scored this lap on bouncy 43psi... harder the better it seems for me. I was 8/10ths up on this time after three corners on the following lap but ran wide with excitement at Stowe, so there's a better time to come from me.

Nice time Andy, it will be hard to beat for me.

 

Andy-R pretty much murdered everyone with an outstanding 1.38.395 lap around old Silverstone.i confess that i had to double-check his laptime because i couldnt belive someone could be more that a second faster than second place at the time he posted.Meanwhile,Daniel Perez and V8_BB managed to reduce some sime,but still they are far away from first place.Great to see more aliens coming back to WHL!
