A licence problem ?! You think you need a licence for each layout ? I don't think so when you see the total number of layouts on the circuit and the number of them in R3E

 

You likely do, remember, it’s Bernie’s track, probably why it has so many layouts, the “would you like a chicane on that straight” is his version of “would you like fries with that”.

 

"I don't think so" is a strong argument.

 

The different layout may not be laser-scanned and the travel restrictions are preventing it from being laser-scanned, Covid must have made sim development super hard, can’t visit manufacturers, can’t visit circuits...

 

Think of all the work required for a new Layout
AI changes
track limits, race configuration settings
Server settings,
Testing, etc etc, who nows what required for a new layout

 

I think GT4 where only a car DLC.
Kunos licenced a championship , with its track ans cars. So you have the track ans cars for the championship. And that it.
2020 DLC Come as a bonus because it was possible to do it.
I think evrything outside what Kunos has bien licenced for need another agreement.
But that is only m'y thaught.

 

As I said, the chicane is perfectly usable with the current modeling. I even wonder if it is not already scanned ... And even if it is not, will we complain about 100m not scanned ? Not me anyway. I can understand the fact that it does not change the entrance to the pits because it requires a major change in the modeling, but here we are talking about a chicane that already exists in their modeling.

I know it's a lot of work but when I see the time Kunos spend on some "minor" details to push the realism very far, I find it hard to understand that they make us drive on the wrong layout in GT4.

 

You are free to just take the chicane if you really want it, like you said it's modeled in the game

 

According to some of the lines I take on most tracks — I think I have about 4-5 more track layouts than most!

Just require drivers to take the chicane instead of giving out time penalties at Paul Ricard.

 

It would be funny if the game gave a warning if you take the chicane.

 

I tried your method. It is not the perfect solution but it looks like we have to content with it until Microsoft and Nvidia fix it. Thanks for the heads up.

Damn ACC is packed with content, it seems it has covered all the possible content. Is time for AC2 ? or is there still more possible content for ACC ?

 

So I will also share my tip regarding graphics/smoothness:
I use a 4k TV at 3840x2160 (80% resolution scale) - Looks amazing to my eyes!
Now, my Radeon 5700XT is not always happy with that, especially on before sunrise(6AM) and after sunrise(7/8PM), shadows medium solves that, but I like shadows high
But the Radeon still can manage it, especially if all foliage related is on low, that really renders much less shadows on places where you don't even see, the problem for my scenario was random micro stutter, even when the video card was not at 100% usage, and my final solution for my scenario is:
- Disable in game V-Sync, also disable in game Framerate limiter.
- Have installed/running: After Burner + RTSS(riva tuner statistics server).
- Don't limit framerate on RTSS(framerate limit 0), instead, set scanlyne sync to 140(works ok on my tv)
- Set sync as front edge sync on RTSS settings

with this I really only get micro stutter when the video card reaches 100% usage.
