Crazy priced aren't they. No comp at that level so they charge what they like. One is a stretch, two equals a divorce I was forced into buying 1080ti because my previous GPU failed and now less than 18 months I have to upgrade. poor me I considered VR however too many issues and everyone says the image quality is less than 1080p. + where i live it's f$%king hot all year round. I am also not able to test one as I live remote. I also think VR will be extra special in a few years time once a few more gen upgrades happen.

There are some open threads & discussions to the devs regarding Ai performance. I think we will see a big improvement in this area. I have faith in Kunos.

 

I'm not really that updated with the news here but are there any word on damage in this game? So far I've noticed that there is no damage at all

 

@Turbo_Dad - Curious mate. Whats FPS stats do you get in daytime practice with no Ai and with 10 Ai?

Running a 1080ti here with the Rift, and I seriously don't get all the complaints about ACC VR - I find that graphically ACC provides a better VR experience than AC or R3E, possibly due to the superior lighting. Night and rain conditions are some of the most immersive experiences I've had in VR sim racing.

FPS wise yes it is more taxing, but then again I find the experience at 45fps with ASW to be very good. I can run 1.8 pixel density, high to epic settings, 24 AI pretty comfortably.

I realise that purists may cringe at the idea of running with ASW, but from my experience it's not as bad as it's made out to be.

 

I don't know because I dont own a VR headset. An experienced user around here told me his vive pro was under performing & looked worst than it does in AC. I don't know...

 

For those (like me) scared by ultra expensive stuff up there :
2080ti cost more than I spend in computer stuff every 5 years, if you dont buy an enormous screen > you won't need giant resolution > you won't need ultra expensive GPU every 2 years.
I can run ACC 1080p 60fps with a gtx770 2gb with good tweaks. A good technique for not needing a huge screen is to get closer from it ^^'

 

I'm sure other users will chime in if they disgaree, but for me ACC undoubtedly looks better than AC front a graphic fidelity perspective. Resolution wise, I can get it to match AC in VR while still being very playable.

Hit enter, then start typing. Enter opens the dialogue box. That's non-VR though, but I guess it's the same...? How you type with a headset on though, I don't know?

I'm not to bad a touch typer, but not planning on typing war and peace more the basics, thnx, good race etc...

You could limit visible opponents and turn shadows to lower setting (or off) for night races.
It helps fps a lot at night races vs. AI.

 

Yep, night-time shadows are a real hog.

How is the feedback provided by the vibration motor on the brake pedal for ABS and locking?
Is it useful or it's a meh?

 

It’s non-existent unfortunately, don’t think they’ve implemented support for the rumble motors (yet). Shame as I’d love to feel when ABS kicks in. In ACC my braking approach is currently - spot braking point, fully mash brake pedal, turn in. No idea if the ABS in real life also means that braking is like this, but in ACC there’s no finesse involved because you can’t feel locks or ABS,at least not with my setup.

 

1.8 ppd and 24 ai with 1080ti?? which cpu you have? and can you post your settings ingame and tweaks in engine.ini? thx

 

Legend thank you for taking the time to do that for me This gives me a rough idea on the performance i'll see. Id expect a little better for me as 32:9 has 900k less pixels to render.
