If I understand it correct, this means that it doesn't matter on what position you finish a race, you just drive race weekend after race weekend end if all races are driven you got 100% progress.
So for me it is difficult to find a reason to continue career mode, because there is no goal to achieve. You cannot become champion and you can do nothing with the bonus points you can collect.

This is really the lamest career mode I can imagine.

So Fabrizio Brugnaro is not working at career mode anymore?

As much as I like ACC I can't disagree.

When listening to the early RaceDepartment interview I had hoped that would mean a greatly expanded feature set, from making your own team, customising your livery and suit, a stats page, competition history, a proper replication of the Blancpain GT cups and titles with points tables... Doesn't have to be a manage-your-team type of game like some other racing games but still, what is there is just incredibly bare-bones. In many ways this career mode and what you can do with custom championships/races is inferior to what's in AC1 that was oft-criticised for its career mode, which is saying something. That odd "podium" animation doesn't make up for it, sorry.

Here's hope with time and more content updates that get more people playing the singleplayer part will also receive attention. From an outside view this sim has a lot of potential but also needs a lot of work.

During ea there was a tab for offline career statistics reserved, only not yet accessable.
But this tab was quietly removed with 1.0.
So I think Kunos did have plans for a proper and motivating career mode, but maybe ran out of resources (time/money/developers I do not know).

 

Yes, I can't contradict it. The career is also an important part for me and at the moment already very disappointing. And I lose my SA there (not funny either).
I really hope the career gets even more interesting, but I have doubts.

 

Career mode aside, can anybody tell me why SA even matters? The highest server is SA 75 and most drivers on there suck and farm points in SP easy mode.
As far as I can tell SA is only there to frustrate us. Got mine to 95- then in one week was punted down to 85.

That's a common refrain but- Why don't kunos have servers with higher SA? And why do they let you farm points and look far safer than you actually are?

 

Yeah, this is sad. The 'career' button on the home screen is the largest and in the most prominent position, so it's disappointing to read that it's going to stagnate for the foreseeable in its current form (which, dare I say it, feels quite beta). It's no career at all actually, not even a championship. Shame.

I really, really hate being critical, but this sim really is frustrating. So much promised, but (physics and sound aside) it just seems so half baked.

I'm not saying the devs haven't done enough work, quite the opposite. I'm sure they've all worked themselves into the ground to get this sim released, but there's no getting away from it from where I'm sitting - they bit off more than they could chew. It's so frustrating as a sim racing enthusiast to see the sim in the condition it is and I imagine that frustration must be 10x greater for the devs.

I'm still hanging on to some sort of blind loyalty that Kunos can turn this around, but it's real shame ACC is in the state it is right now.

You’d think that a simple points system would be easy, but it would only highlight the lack of individual AI’s and each race weekend would look totally random, with no rivalries etc. though cars having different difficultly per AI might help, but if that was in then lapped cars could just swap to the easiest AI and feel more like they are yielding?

But at the end of the day you need game developers to pull off those features, not simulation developers. And they don’t tend to cooperate well as one is about being convincing, while the other is fiercely literal.

 

As long as there's a Gallardo in a career, there can't be a career.

Honestly, I also thought the carreer mode would be more than it currently is. Nothing too fancy like the F1 games, but some kind of progression where you start in the academy in the Huracan ST or Porsche Cup for a few short races and the transfer to a smaller team as an AM driver, maybe in an older car and progress through the ranks by reaching goals for each race (something like qualifiy at a vertain position, or finish a a certain position, or keep your laptimes under a certain time) and progress to another team if you reach a certain position in the overall rankings. As it currently is there is not that much difference to the Championship mode, except for the Special events which I quite like actually.
