1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

No, I knew you didn't own an ASUS 970, but there isn't too terribly much difference between them, so I was wondering what fps you're getting?

IMHO, even with the next gen cards, AC will be hard to run at true ultra settings. Racing games are some of the most demanding, and tbh medium cubes with a lot of faces per frame looks pretty good to me. Forcing more AA and better shadows is more important to me anyway.

I don't really see the difference, especially when using cockpit cam. I think the resolution of the reflections is a separate setting than the render frequency of the cubemap. At static the cubemap does not get rendered at every frame. AC is terribly optimised when it comes to reflections.
I used to have the same GPU but on an older i7 950. While this 4770 isn't so much faster in GHZ it unclogs the GPU with its newer architecture.

    To OP...
AC seems to benefit massively from PCI-e 3.0.
It's not supposed to...but it does.
There is also a nice up-tick in smoothness with it enabled.
Look at any video I've posted here on the AC forum...look especially at the scenery track-side as I move past it and you'll see what I mean. It's almost fluid.
Since you do not have that option, try taking a second look at things like harddrive controller optimization.
I know in my own case, switching my OS situated SSD to the 6 GB/s Intel SATA port from the ASMedia 6 GB/s port yielded a huge boost in performance (both fps and smoothness).

Not sure what you mean, because GPUs have been connecting to PCI-e 3.0 for quite a while now...o_O

@LSGamingHDHD I'm assuming you have NVIDIA control panel set for application controlled for AA and AF. See attached image (make sure both acs.exe and assettocorsa.exe are in the profile otherwise performance will be lower).
I've done a lot of experimenting with my Zotac GTX970 prior to 1.4 update and on other forums, but used to be that a 970 CANNOT run AC on ultra setting @ 1080 for min 60FPS (cockpit view + 24 car grid +you staring in back). You'll probably want to upgrade to a 980 TI (maybe a regular 980). However, with the 1.4 version of the game the benchmark results tell me I can (see image attached I never observe the min to be 21 even though it says that). The exception will be in the replay view.

Prior to 1.4 game version, I found that at best you can do ULTRA everything except for reflections and reflection frequency (medium at max).
ULTRA shadows will lower your FPS substantially at sunset/sunrise (longer shadows)--you can test this and find out for your own. [From my signature you can see my settings.]
Reflections quality and frequency (specially this one) you'll want to lower to medium. At least 80 FPS at my settings using PP (dynamic)--I cap it at 80.

For minimum 60 FPS you could probably do ULTRA shadows (if you don't race at sunset/sunrise), ULTRA/HIGH reflection quality, and MEDIUM reflection frequency. Ultra on PP works too.

I like minimum of 80 FPS for my trackIR scrolling smoothness. I don't think you can compare pCars and iRacing to AC since they don't use the same game engine.

Compare the graphics requirements between the iRacing and AC here: (http://www.iracing.com/membership/system-requirements/ and https://www.assettocorsa.net/hw-sw-requirements/).

    Hope this helps.

I've been doing a couple of online races with 2715x1527, and even with PP on, it's running very smoothly and looks so good!
I'm thinking of making this my standard setting. Never thought it would run so well.

Too bad the interface and apps don't scale with higher resolutions, so the apps and text are getting quite small and hard to read.
