1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I use your setup for the Ferrari, it helped me find a full second at spa. gonna have to try this one on the vette.

I know right, it took me some time to get the Ferrari down into the low 2;17s. i'm nowhere near that with the corvette yet. id like to at least find a low 2;18.

    14's and 15's are just discouraging though...in a way.

  2. Soft tyres (I don't use Super Softs), and a 50% fuel load. I generally practice and qualify in race mode. By the way, where do I put the setups?

  4. I noticed that the ride height is actually lower than the minimum allowed. Surely we should be avoiding that?

I prefer not to use a full setup from elsewhere, so I decided to select a tweak from Phil's modifications, and see if I could get anywhere. I had done several laps this morning prior to that, but couldn't get out of the 2:20s. Two laps after lowering the ride height to 30/35 (with all other settings as I have been using previously), and I am down to 2:19.371.

I did have a quick test drive with Phil's setup, but it felt a bit "floaty" for my liking when compared to the default car. This is why I really don't like just taking someone else's setup. I prefer to know how to get there. I will have a look at one or two other settings, but at the moment I am happy to be capable of low 2:19s (which is the same as the Ferrari 458 GT2 for me, although that was basically a default setup). It will enable me to compete with most drivers on public servers ;)

Always depends on the starting position ;) Sometimes it's better to start hotlapping from pits, on other tracks starting from the normal position is better. But ride height is also a little bit exaggerated, because 2mm more or less won't change the lap time by one tenth.

Did a bunch of 2.15 flat this morning. So with what I've seen so far I'd say this car is faster than the Ferrari at Spa AND easier to drive.

One thing that might be throwing people off is it has a much more linear throttle map compared to other GTx cars. You can stomp on it harder and faster than you would usually do and it'll be fine. It's not that the car has more grip it's just that the torque output in the 40-80% throttle range is less aggressive than in other cars. It takes some time getting used to.

  7. 2:15 is way beyond my (and 99% of the AC userbase) abilities for this car at this track. You are definitely an alien, Phil.

It's a good lap but trust me when I'm telling you 14s will be done easy. Aliens are a step away from me I'm afraid and I'm wondering as much how they are doing as you are.

  9. 2:15 is alien territory as far as I am concerned. I consider myself to be a decent driver (although not a race driver per se), but lap times like that just baffle me.

Dang, managed to shave .8xx of my best time. Got 4th best now on RSR bc of your setup. Thanks for sharing :D
I do need a lot more confidence in some corners though and also under braking.

it was the GT series 24 hours at spa this weekend just gone.
GT3 cars doing 500 laps of spa.
with me driving along in my simulated BMW Z4...

nice way to learn the lines.

they were lapping steady about 2:22-2:24 for hours on end.
    and so was i :)

eau rouge at night with sparks is quite a light show.

I tried the setup posted on the previous page, but when I load it the car is massively under the ride height limit. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

When I see guys dropping in 2:15's in Q I know that the middle of the pack is the best I can hope for. I've recently not been qualifying just so I can get some overtaking experience, rather than having a faster driver who got pushed off at t1 impatiently trying to get by.

It's also a little entertaining hanging back at t1 and watching the carnage unfold. Sometimes, seriously it looks like something out of a mad max film.

I did a 2:18.5XX last night at Spa with the C7R.

Super Soft tyres, full track grip.

Use the setup of @PhilS13 I guarantee you that you'll manage even faster times. Just get used to the setup, test a few laps and then go for a really fast one.

Never tried the Corvette before, but the first fast lap was already a 2:19:0xx with the setup from @PhilS13 (thanks for sharing). And I agree, it feels a lot easier than the Ferrari. Unfortunately I can't compete with my plastic toy pedals, not enough sense of braking to handle non-ABS cars

That was with his setup! :)

I found it quite loose at the rear to be honest. Lots of drifting.

  19. This is why I enjoy starting at the back of a full grid. I really enjoy working my way through the pack, and seeing how close I can get to the top. I have actually won one or two races after starting at the back of a 24 car grid. That's a damn sight more satisfying than qualifying in pole position, and burning off into the sunset ;)

Phil's setup felt too "light" and loose for my liking, but even just lowering the ride height with the default setup knocked nearly a second off my fastest lap time. I prefer to make small adjustments of my own than use someone else's complete setup, even though I am basically clueless. I think that I should be able to get into the 2:18s though with one or two additional tweaks to improve the turn in, and that's with soft tyres and a 50% fuel load.

By the way, shouldn't it be impossible to lower the ride height below the minimum? I thought that had been sorted out??

as long as the slower racers drive clean it can be really big fun, especially when there's nobody at your own pace around. But only one very slow driver with a brakepoint 100m before your own can destroy this fun immediately. You can drive as careful as possible, but some moves are so unpredictable...
