1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Full list of transmission types?

With Content Manager I can set car-specific control schemes so that the shifter I use (sequential/paddle/H-pattern) automatically changes, and it also allow me to automatically apply dog leg pattern.

I found this old thread to help me figure out the controls for each car, but the list is really old:
    https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/transmission-type-for-each-car.8747/

Yesterday I bumped into this video:

I did not know that the Countach had dog leg pattern. Is there an updated list of transmission types out there? I don't see Kunos' official notes for the actual shift pattern. AFAIK there is no such reminder in the car loading screen, and I read through carefully the introduction text for each car, and checked the tags for official cars, and there is no mentioning whether a car has dog leg pattern. Could Kunos give a full list of transmission types, since they know best what type of car they are modeling?

  3. I doubt that the pattern of the gears is even on Kunos manufacturer data request list since it makes no difference regarding physics and there is only one generic shifting animation.

It would really be very nice to know which of the manual cars use the dog leg pattern. Adds to the feeling of realism :)

you can also add these to your list:-

    Mercedes-Benz 190E EVO II
    Porsche 917 K
Porsche 917/30 Spyder (I assume this uses the same gearbox as the 917k as there is no mention it did not)

@Kristaps - From my research this 1973 Ford Escort RS1600 did not use a dogleg gb. Konus have also indicated this on their gear knob graphics. My research on the 1968 Ford GT40 (p1075 mk1) shows it used a ZF-5-DS25 transmission which from what I can gather was also not a dogleg. Obviously this is not 100% concrete with so many models of both these cars being produced & info not always lining up. Do you have any references to suggest otherwise?

I usually google or check in CM showroom what kind of gear plate a car have.

Would be nice a have a full list though.

Ferrari 512TR is part of Kunos (DL) content? Because I don't have that car.

We don't have the MB 190E EVO2, DTM car had a regular 6 speed
917/30 had 4 speed, so no dogleg

You are probably right about both Fords

@Kristaps - Your right i forgot it was DTM. Say does it have a H pattern or sequential 6 speed? I thing the Alfa was sequential. Not sure about the Merc...

    That's not a given.
They used dog-leg gearboxes because you switch between second and third more often than between the other gears.
This is especially the case for a 4-speed.

Now I don't have a link at hand to prove that the 917/30 (and 935 Moby Dick) had dog-leg gearboxes, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't the case.

I actually find it really hard to Google definitive info on this. Even in detailed review of certain cars sometimes the author will miss out whether or not the car uses a dogleg pattern shifter.
That is why I think it would be nice that Kunos can offer some direct insights.

  19. @Coanda, Alfa in-game is an earlier H-Pattern model.

The easiest way is possibly to use Youtube (or similar).

Watch the shifting motion and which positions are used the most.
Then you make a pretty good guess at which position is which gear.

    Edit: basic example, Moby Dick:

Here you can see at 0:37 (where he is surely in first gear as he just started) that he shifts from a forward position to a rear position, which very certainly is 1st to 2nd.
This means that the Moby Dick doesn't use a dog-leg gearbox.
Hence my guess above was wrong and @Coanda was right.
