1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    I've pretty much just stuck to driving the GT3 and GT2 cars since playing this.

    Due to the huge amount of cars in the sim id like to try driving some others but not really sure where to start.

    What generally speaking are considered this sims 'best cars' ? ie: the most highly praised ones in the community ?

    my problem with ac is - every car, if i invest some laps to adjust to the car, is so much fun.

    For me, this. Tons of grip, but still slides a litte so it is playful but steady. Doesn't lock up easily and accelerates like a mofo. Beginners can enjoy this and they can have good fun pushing it.

    More demanding cars like the Cobra "can" be fun, but you need to invest serious time and effort and be ready to adapt to completely different approach as to how a car drives. It can be fun, if you are in the right mood.

    I only started playing AC properly in the past 3 or so months. During that time I only race what is well populated online.

    I'd say each one of them is unique and worth a try.
    If you add to that the combo of track + car the choice and experience is mind blowing.

    I'd suggest you go to Console section of the forums and look for Weekly Hotlap Challenge. There have been 62 weekly challenges so far and each one of them is different and gives you taste of what it is to drive certain cars on certain tracks. I must say that some of them combos I would never think of, but to my surprise they all were incredibly fun and great learning experience. Seriously, go give it a go.

    I'd recommend the Ferrari 250 GTO, the Ford Escort RS1600 and from what I've seen/heard the Alfa 33 Stradale coming tomorrow - I like those old touring cars.
    For he more modern cars, the KTM X-Bow has already been recommended, and maybe also try the Ferrari F2004 if you're into F1.

    Porsche 911 R and Gt3RS never disapoints. Mclaren F1 GTR is always stunning as well, but be prepared to be challenged.

    Well since you drove GT2/3 cars only, anything will be better. :p

    GT40, Cobra, 250 GTO, F40, Escort, Lotus 49, 250F, AE86, E30, Miata... the list goes on.
    I'd say just try those cars that you like irl but never had a chance to drive them. Then randomly try whatever might seem interesting, be it visual aspect or performance.

    Crikey, how can you have the 250 GTO, Shelby Cobra, Lotus 49, 250F available and never drive them... :confused:

    As others have said the X Bow isn’t a bad place to start.

    If you have a 3 pedal set up and a gear stick then learning H&T shifting is a worthwhile little project.
