I just had a mp race at spa, f40 vs yellowbird, amazing

About 20ish cars, i enter late to qualify in a red yellowbird, so ended up in the middle of nowhere, 12 or 14 position, 8 lap race.

Green light & surprisingly there was no contact on the first corner, no contact in eau rouge, neigther on the chicanne after the long straigth... (remember this is a public MP race in two of the most difficults cars to control) off course there were tons of spins off but very little contact, i was amaze on how good everyone behaved, maybe it was that everyone was trying too hard to stay on the track & the ones who spun off, did wait until was safe to reenter to the track. Very good race indeed.

First corner i went to the inside & launched in 2nd gear on the way out overtanking almost everyone that were incredibly careful with theirs throttles to not spun, so before eau rouge i was 4th following three F40 & as you can imagine with cold tyres trying to keep up againts driver that were much faster than i was, i was going sideways in every corner of the 1st lap, obiously i got overtaked & next lap i spun on eau rouge, spend the rest of the race trying to gain back my position, overtake quite a lot of cars, much more spun off & i kept going sideways everywhere until the last lap which i had no tyres left.

Ended up 4th place overall & very happy indeed on how clean people can race in AC, it is not even as half as bad as you people talk in the forums, try some LFS public server if you feel you can't race here, i bet you will return happily to AC public servers.

Anyways, how the f**k can i drive the yellowbird neatly?? seriously that thing don't behave.

 

Is this your first public MP race? I've had a few brilliant races with little incidents and really close tail to tail racing .....sadly it's not an everyday thing in public MP and have accepted that.

Haven't played Lfs online but you can only compare with what your used too, in my case iracing .so I happily return there when I get frustrated here. For a brilliant Sim like AC it needs to aim for a high standard of racing to complement it.
Still early days with AC, hopefully with some new rules we can have more amazing races

 

I am trying to avoid Public races! I am part of a very great community! The tipp is, join one by yourself. Being part of a community gives you so much great benefits. You now the other drivers and you can learn how they react! Than the real fun beginns!!

 

Very nice read. It seems that lately, the racing on public servers has improved. Last night I raced X-bows on Imola. There was an admin there kicking people left and right. I first I thought it was too harsch, but the end result was a grid of people who respected not only track boundaries, but also their fellow racers.

I ended up infront of a guy who I could tell was way faster than me. Many times that's a recepy for disaster since many people "feel entitled" to overtake the slower car infront, no matter the situation. This guy was patient enough though and passed me in a difficult, yet totally legit place. I defended as much as I could, but there's only so much you can do. He went off a track a couple of corners later though and had to repeat the whole procedure

 

That sounds like the Operation Blacklist server, Ricky. I will have to return there soon.
