1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

iR doesn't allow to join started Q or R sessions unless you're registered on them.

In iRacing when you join a server you essentially end up in what they label the Drivers Briefing page (here they display useful information about the track and some of the general rules for online racing etc.), there is a visible count down to the session start time over a disabled button, which then becomes active once the timer has run down and then you can join the server session :)

  3. Read the .pdf it says, if I have read it correctly, that if you book a server you won't be able to join until the next session.

I don't understand why they just can leave you in the lobby until the race finishes like most MP driving games there out there.

You should be able to join mid game if its practice/qualifying just not the race. Hopefully that will come in the furture.

Do we even know if we will have practice/qualy/race sessions to setup?

So the server wont have to load your car model therefore lagging for 1 second, which is enough for everyone crash into eachother :)
Everyone who has played older sims know this very well.
That said, i hope they find a way to load up new player cars while in the middle of the qualify/race without the lag :)

YES! (I mean NO!) the infamous "Join Lag"
the worst of this was if the warmup/qualifying session used your lap time to grid your starting position.
Then every time someone joined the session you'd get a micro lag (sometimes a full 3 seconds), so if you didn't crash, you end up with a 5 sec slower lap than if no one joined during the lap.

I think the guys at Kunos have "been around the Sim racing block a few times", and they will have a working solution for join lag when multiplayer is released in the next few hours.

What do you mean by this? From what I understand, you must book into a server before practice starts to be able to join it at all - whether you join during practice, qualifying, or race - your car should already be loaded since you're required to book.

From what I understood from the .pdf, you will be able to join at any point - practice, qualifying, or the race - as long as you booked a spot in the server. It seems that servers will be set up with 15 minute practice, qualifying, and a 10 lap race.

I like the idea of being able to jump in at any time during practice and qualifying (as long as you booked), but joining mid race? If you didn't begin the race in the starting grid, I don't think people should be able to join in. But I could be reading things wrong in the .pdf.

EDIT: Everyone please read this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/103005/AC/AC_online.pdf

It's the .pdf that I am referencing from the AC devs explaining how some of the Multiplayer features work. As for everyone concerned about "join lag" AC has implemented 'booking' to combat the issue.

I divorced them last month after the umpteenth rammer
(nice to see you dude :D )

No, I am now AC and iRacing guy, no more SRW for me (sigh, I used to love em too)

  12. I think that's in the past already... LFS, for example, has always accepted mid-race joining and they never had that kind of problem. Maybe a micro-stuttering because of MY slow computer back then, because I played a lot with onboard graphics and low FPS, but never server-side problem.

No joining in mid race is fine, but there needs to be some time between end of race and beginning of next session.

Actually there must be a joining time otherwise no one would get on the first session :D.

Maybe just a join in mid practice, because lag in that session is no biggie. The once you get to qualy/race you're in lockdown? Anyway, why speculate as we get to find out later :)

Same here but the way srw has been ran for the past year (Since people who actually did work left), It's discraceful how poor it is now, Only one member of staff seems to do anything & even still he's a ***** most of the time, but he seems to think I will be wrong about my predictions for srw's future but it's eveident i'm right on some aspects ie players? where are they? they reduced car prices to get more people to play i guess but it hasn't worked. I also get called a troll no-matter what I say :D

The game is a failure & it will never be successful, There's only one reason people play it & that's because srw offer money as prizes :D.

It takes 6 months to see the money in your account though and alot longer for withdrawal requests because as we know certain people don't do their job properly.

    Anyways, rant over :)

On topic: I'm so excited for populated multiplayer races, It's like Christmas :D:D:D

I mean they get rid of the requirement to book the server in order to join AND manage the server to get no join lag as soon any player joins in the middle of the race. :D

Beta has been updated twice in the past half hour. So excited that I've hardly been able to work at all today.

Going to setup a dedicated server whilst downloading the update (assuming that they release the server files in this update)

Yep, the first few races are going to be totally depressing.

And after that we can look forward to the ramfest as all the even less skilled drivers download it :D
