1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

ok thanks! :) Good news for the 970 then. On another note, do all the other 70's series have this VRAM 'issue'.

    Not the 770 4GB.

if you mean: do all 970 custom models got this VRAM issue? => yes
if you mean: did the 770, 670 also got this VRAM issue? => no, it was a brand new special innovation from nvidia for the 9xx series

    Second one :) and thanks

Anyone still want to test the 970 120fps for me?

    Please :/

    Regarding to this benchmark:

a 970 does very well in AC. Although they are running full motion blur :oops::confused:

Have a look here: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/new-gtx-970-which-one.19824/page-5#post-389581 and his second post afterwards...

If you want I can also do a test with my 980 later this evening (with your wish settings), FPS differences between a 970 and 980 in full HD are only around 10% to20% from what I saw in benchmarks.

Thanks, yeah I'd seen the vid. But he uses Ultra shadows and 12 motion blur  so not really close to what I would run :(

I don't know what the cost of Motion blur and shadows are tho so that would be useful :) I run mine (and will continue to do so) with no motion blur and lowest shadows.
(I like my reflections you see :D)

And yes! I'd really appreciate that :)

  7. You really are limiting yourself with a requirement for 120fps. I know that people go on about super high frequency monitors blah blah blah, but I still struggle to understand why anyone needs such a high framerate

I'd like to experiment and I do drive mainly fast cars so framerate is (relatively) more important driving those than street cars for example.

It's all a test. If I can, I will see what 144Hz feels like and then drop it slowly to see the difference :)

For me, it wasnt about the 144hz it was about the 27 inches, that made me part with my hard earned.

constant 120 fps @ 1920x1080 is easy with a 970 - just turn PP off, or reflections to medium/shadows to high and you should be good even with 24car grid

So here I delivere as promised ^^

    Scenario:
    • full 24 AI Grid
    • 8 different GT cars (GT3 + GT2 + Lotus GTC + Corvette C7R)
    • Monza
    • 12:30 ingame
    Settings:
    • no changes to my normal settings (all max. inlcude PP, except Smoke at Low, Reflection Quality Low, Reflection Frequency very low), only switched from 5760x1080 to 1920x1080
    • SweetFX
    • PP: S1-Evolution
    • nVidia driver: Texture filter "high quality" instead of the standard "quality"
    Hardware:
    • i7 3770K @ stock clock
    • Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980 GTX @ stock clock (mine is boosting up to 1386 Mhz)
    Results:
    • VRAM usage: 2.4 GB
    • CPU usage 30% to 35 % (double it because of Hyperthreading)
    • start and first corners: 90 to 110 FPS (GPU usage only at 75% to 80% so I'm running into the CPU limit AC can utilize here)
    • when I let the AI drive away until it isn't visible: 140 to 160 FPS (GPU usage goes up to maximum)

Thank you. Sounds positive :) thanks

Reflections frequency from Very low to static doesn't make a big difference, maybe around 3 FPS.

Hotlapping (no AI): stable 150 to 160 FPS with settings above

Hotlapping going crazy and take the settings above, disable PP: 240 to 270 FPS

    Edit:
all tests done without motion blur!!!

I overclocked my i7-4790K to 4.7Ghz and bought a second GTX780Ti to go SLI. With this hardware I am able to run everything in AC on Ultra with Post Processing on. I run a full field of 24 cars and frame rate isn't an issue as I use G-Sync on my 144Hz monitor.

    Jaye Alien

Ah forget one thing: disable post processing lowers VRAM usage from 2,4GB to 1,3GB in the full grid scenario.
