PS4 What have they done with the AI ..

Is it just me , or did the latest version make the ai act like a dummy

you can "slow" down on any corner and hold them off, and weaving down the straights makes them "back off" and allow you to get a JUMP on them every time

i took it to a huge extreme in career mode, and "force" the ai to stay behind me on Medium , managed todo the 8 laps and still have cold tyres and all green (due to running a super low speeds)

Even the ai hardly tried to over take each other until they was on a straight

 

If you raced with sensible real life racers they would not overtake you if you did the same. Behave yourself when you race AI and they race very well, I have had some great races with them for a few months now.

 

I use to race at "Very Hard" level. I think that the level changes only the capability of making faster lap times, but during races I have never seen an overtake on me or among other cars, and I underline never.
There is also an other problem (this one is probably a bug): during qualifying, for example, when I go out to warm the tyres, when I see someone (the AI) who comes behind me I slow down and I drive on the side of the track to let the car pass. But actually the AI car doesn't pass, even if I slow down till 10 km/h.
I love the simulation of this game, I love this game, but the AI needs a fix in my opinion.

 

Porsche 911 cup brands hatch, you can slow right down on straights,corners and as long as you stop on racing line they won't overtake, when you speed up they speed up. Move of racing line they overtake. Lol

 

I agree. The AI need a kick up the backside in order to overtake the player. Would love to see some further work done here, along with the AI's 'contact box' which is far too large and can even make them swerve off the track if you get slightly close to them. So more aggression and more overtaking would go down a treat.

The AI is good, but there's a few things needed that would make them great.

 

I have to say , yes when racing they are really really good .. but they never go offline .

This means as long as you "stay on target", they will never pass you off line .. this does spoil things somewhat

 

My experience differs a bit. I have passed the AI in a race and then, when slowing into a turn, get blasted off the track by the Kamikaze AI.
I wish they'd be more civilized.
And I do know that "rubbing is racing", but I find it incredulous that the AI can smash into me and come away unscathed. I'd feel a little better if we both crashed into the wall. Especially if the wreck is the fault of AI
