1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I drove that pack since the moment it came out until a thunderstorm took out electricity at 23:00 local time.

That's how good it is. Combine it with le_mans_2017 v.083 and oh my gawd

Your right there... it IS a quality release. Good to see you come to your senses. :)

    Wait and see, son.

  6. I don't think the quality is an issue. To be honest I haven't seen anyone else critisizing the quality of this exact DLC. The thing that may kill the game is that people doesn't want to drive the darn game and they seem to think there are some checklist you have to tick in order to make the game succesful.

At first the graphics engine including VR and dx11, no big increase in popularity. Then we got a lot of front row official licensed content, no big increase in popularity. Next will be the UI and let me guess, no big increase in popularity.

I'm just wondering how far S397 are willing to go.. It is still the game that died 5 years ago.

honestly, the ui is a huge thing.
and needing to edit an ini for some wheels...
configuring controls in general is a mess
that's a no-go for the average joe IMO

This new pack is very good, I highly recommend it if you own RF2.

  9. There we go. Just don't expect huge bump in user counts. :D

Edit: Just a reminder, since this roadmap the active userbase is 12,5% (50 users) bigger nowadays.

A real shame, cause the physics are top notch...
FFB is a personal thing though

    So much this.

The average player doesn't want to fiddle around and read hundreds of forum posts to actually play or enjoy a game.
I mean I am willing to read all the threads about all the possibilities and options you can tinker with in rFactor 2. I like to know as much as possible about the possibilities a software like this offers. And I think that most of the people who write here in the forums feel the same (otherwise you wouldn't spend your precious time in here anyway).

But I know five guys (in real life, relatives and friends of mine) who don't want to to this.
They just want to hotlap or race in a decent sim. They don't want to mess around with any ini.-files.
Furthermore, they don't want me to explain these things - they just say: "That's too complicated for me."
And that's the reason why these guys don't like to play rFactor 2 or AMS (catch word: realfeelplugin).
    And that's the problem.

It's a shame because I like rFactor 2 very much.
And to see how it get abandoned by people who are actually into simracing or on the edge to get drawn into simracing makes me sad (not really sad, but it feels weird how they can pass on such a magnificient game just because they don't want to dig a little deeper).

Are you serious - this time?
I ask because of your posts about the latest DLC.

Sorry for writing in german but I really want to get my message across (to Rainer) without any language barrier.

All these things mentioned above, are the worst excuses ever.
I just can't have my brain to explain, why would someone decides to invest some hundreds or even thousands of money on this hobby and will still refuse to spend a few dollars and a really easy learning curve on the very best software regarding sim.racing. I just can't and I am trying really hard not offending anyone when listening to this sh*t...

  14. Because rf2 is far from the very best software regarding sim racing.

The folks I was speaking of haven't spent hundreds of euros or dollars on this hobby yet - neither have I. They and I don't have that much money.
But they would play rFactor 2 for sure if it would be more user friendly (for simracing beginners - so to speak).

I am sorry that you feel offended by my comment.
I just want to bring in some other perspectives from people who don't come here (or join other forums).

As I wrote: I don't see all that fiddeling as a hurdle I see it as an opportunity to dig deeper and get a better understanding of a game.

You have to admit: Studio 397 are not (only) developing for fun and love. It's their daily work. And if there are too little people who buy their game they won't make enough many to proceed. I'm sorry - my English is not good enough to express my thoughts more thoroughly.

Rf2 is for simracers, not for wanna be simracers. :p

I was testing the DLC cars the whole day and they are the best cars i have ever driven in any sim.
the Porsche is so good that i will never drive the AC Porsche again.

RF2 have the best FFB and the best tire/car physics for a SIM but lacks heavily in content and is far away to be a polished product.
What I should do with body flex and tire model if gears aren't properly simulated?
What should I do with the GTE pack if the only track suited for them is Silverstone?
Why rF2 can simulate wind (effecting track objects like trees and car handling) but no one implemented it leaving it die on devmode?
Also relying on mods for your survival when you are the most unfinished product (so mods are obsolete every big update) and the most difficult to work it is a drawback...
