1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Before ending the development of the Assetto Corsa 1?

Well that would be hell of a conspiracy theory hahaha

AC is goldmine, look at all us - Iwant this to be added, AC needs that, wishes and wishes. The damand is huge ! FFB steering wheel controlers manufacturers should be increasing their production quantities by now :D Because AC is worth it @aphidgod :D

Who says it will be called AC2.....iracing has had new rebuilds and maintains the same name. A new rebuild of AC could still maintain the original name...

I feel sometimes like we forum community are like "backseat devs" lol

Which would be my preferred way of doing things, it'd allow Kunos to use the same licensing and us to keep existing content. Changing hardware requirements years after people bought your software is problematic however. And I guess a new title would also lead to more sales again instead of just expanding the existing product with paid content.

  11. Yeah my worry about a possible 'AC2' is losing great licenses. I hope they can keep all the content, and ideally be able to bring everything up to the same standards (to avoid having a Gran Turismo situation where some cars are from a different era...).
No easy feat, but I'm sure they could hire a bunch of modellers to work on older cars... :D

You can't compare a subscription based service with a more traditional game like AC. Doesn't work that way.

Lets play backseat dev some more... which of these would you include in AC2 if you had to choose:

    A. night/day cycle and rain

    B. drivetrain simulation

  14. you realize there is a very good "drivetrain simulation" in AC 1.x right?

Maybe Andy means the shifting behaviour of how it's done in iRacing:

rather than it is in AC:

I don't know which one is closer to the real car though.

I guess transmission wobble is what he is after.

One of the devs (Luca iirc) already said that he would like to do that at some point.

Maybe drivetrain simulation isnt the right phrase.
Surely there is room for improvement for a back seat dev to spend his time and resources on? Transmission wobble/shake/flex. Race cars should be quite temperamental at low speed/partial throttle? Clutch behaves differently to RF2/iR. Seems like you can change gear full throttle in all cars without issue in AC. Can synchro/non synchro gearboxes be represented in the sim? Mappable dog leg layout, paddles & stick seq.

I dont know what it is but there is some sort of wow factor in iRacing that makes cars feel alive when you accelerate that doesnt seem to be there (for me atleast) in AC. you can even see in the recent comparison of the 911 Cup cars at Nords in both games the iR car behaves different over bumps and stuff. It just sounds more "alive". People have mentioned this is because AC doesnt have so good drivetrain simulation and I took their word for it.

Nice work! Good work by you and your team! :)

I do not know if it is possible, but, my dream is to see it, feel it in Forcefeedback (also shifts) and hear it like this:

  20. of course I know what he is after :) But written like that it doesn't make any sense at all.
