1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Taking out rear wing on ACs 650s turns it into a nightmare imo, it wants to overtake the front on every high speed corner.

I'm 100% sure that the 650GT3 was THE car that gave Aristotelis "Copy-and-Paste specialist" nickname back in 2015

Yep..need two clicks at least ... but I was expecting some undrivable mess and suspension was quite good .. handeling weight transfer (logicaly) better than default one ... AC does take in consideration bottoming, right ?

This is correct. Someone (a "user submission") dug into the files and found a few values the same as one of the other McLarens in the game and jumped to the conclusion that the whole car must just be a copy/paste job, even though the two cars in real life share a lot of the same components and setup. Or something like that.

  5. If the front splitter is set at 1 (as it is by default), with minimum rear wing the aero balance is about 51% front at about 200ish kmh, which is quite in front of the center of gravity... and with max rear wing the aero balance is about 43% to the front. With default setup is about 47% (still a bit in front of the CG, which imo is a bit surprising).

In rF2, with minimum rear wing the aero balance is about 41% front, and with max wing about 31%. In both cases way behind the CG, especially at high wing angles. That's why I mentioned some days ago that the differences are ... funny. Because they are quite big.

its GT3 so front aero is always fixed .. so I guess only value 1
Apparently GT3 cars dont really response to ARB or springe changes when it comes to ballance. Are very responsive to dampers and rake is best to ballance it as it affects both mechanical and aero ballance

That % in the AC app is wrong it doesn't include drag induced forces. Actual aero balance will be closer to 42-43% with min rear wing.

I'm using 1 wing on rf2, no value for front with AC I put front aero to 0 rear to 1, it felt quite similar, apart from the rear coming around on AC sometimes.

Relatively aero-dependent race cars like GT3 are definitely very aero sensitive in AC. Any GT race cars set to very low rear angle settings become extremely difficult to drive. When it catches you out at low speeds I'm not sure how realistic it is (I'm certainly not in the position to judge that) - but at high speeds aero balance is definitely something that should factor in heavily and it does so as you would expect in AC. And there's definitely plenty of challenge to be had with GT race cars in AC when playing around with this...

I'm curious about where exactly the differences between the sims comes from, interesting to follow this thread.

I'm not sure what you mean. I'm not aware that anyone actually meant "Copy-and-Paste specialist" seriously unless someone was trolling (I know that he's joking about it). IMHO the MP4-12C GT3 and 650S GT3 don't drive the exact same and they're not doing the same lap times "out-of-the-box" either (and they shouldn't). But of course they do share the same characteristics, the 650S is just an evolution of the same basic concept and components after all.

Probably/most likely that's what "he" would take as a sign of success. "Kunos is fed up with us telling the thruth, so they will ban anyone using name of our website on the forum."

Attention is what he's after, so it would be easier if people would just stop mentioning it.

Looks like copy/paste jokes and wits will never end as long as computers will exist. There is also "cut" function.

What sim feels best to you William? I know you spend a lot of time in iRacing, is that due to feel or the level of competition there, or both? How would you compare iRacing to AC regarding feel?

RF2 feel, for me, varies significantly between cars. Some are terrific, others are just ok. Examples of terrific include the Formula ISI F1 (2012) car, the historic F1 cars and most of the historic tin tops. I like the Williams F1 and Lotus 49 in iRacing but prefer the feel of the comparable cars in RF2. But the modern sports cars recently released in iRacing are setting a great pace for feel these days.

AC has street legal sports cars wrapped up.... almost by default. I would actually like to see iRacing take a street legal Tire model seriously and work up a few sports cars for the new time Attack Mode.

IMO, some cars in rF2 feel fantastic (USF2000 for example), while others feel a little weird (Honda BTCC). The tire feel is indeed different to other sims, i haven't really noticed a similar behavior anywhere else, both AC and iRacing rather feel like the rubber is sliding over the surface, while rF2 rather feels like the rubber is "jumping" over the surface, if that makes sense. Frankly, though, the difference isn't THAT big, it's just something i think i noticed. iRacing still features the most exaggerated effect of heating up tyres, it makes drifts as you see them in Formula cars, especially, more or less impossible for me. If they fixed that, it'd be more accurate, IMO. Alongside a cvomplete overhaul of the FFB, if you need a mod to enhance the FFB, as is available for iRacing, you surely see that there's an issue, in the basic philosophy.
