1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Rf2 is so badly coded. 5 mins to load track, then another 2 minutes to load all the players. Then it stutters every 10 secs or when someone joins/quit. Pile of ****

It's not that bad. It will happen only when you load a track for the first time in order to build the shaders.
Then it will just a little longer than AC maybe 20% longer.
While in race, new cars will appear in server just like yellow boxes at first. At my system there is minimal hiccup. A fraction of a second. Will not affect my driving at all. On the other hand you have the possibility to choose every car without limitation.

There's surely a point to the "badly coded" though. Or, let's rather say, badly optimized. If your PC gets sweaty for that kind of visuals, it's a tad too much. AC looks much better, and takes about the same CPU, or even less, i'd say.

  4. The stutter is really disturbing to me. I'd exchange the ability to choose the car anytime to fluid MP driving experience.

For the things it shows : tyre flexing, dynamic weather clouds and lighting , I think that is really easy on resources.

  6. They all do strange stuff. But at least going fast AC and iR you drive the most "normally". rF2 and RRE, not so much.

Please post a video of your findings so we can all be convinced. And please use official content.

  8. No. Just go watch the WFG stream and be amazed how cancer the driving is when actual fast laps are done.

I watched few onboard videos of very fast laps and didn't see anything unusual. Just alien drivers having all the time in the world to find fastest possible racing line. Not afraid of crashing, not worrying about tires...

    "cancer" ? lol
    What do you mean?

    Yeah WTF does that mean!

Means that if you want to go really fast you have to do things(the cancer) you would never do in real life.

More in RF2 than other sims. He feels.

    Which is?
Because the fast laps I've watched just look like normal laps but with crazy fast lap times leaving me with wtf do they get these times from?

    @William Levesque
Are you talking about driving techniques or car setup (i.e. minimum tire pressures)?

  17. chakko

    chakko Alien

True. E.g. i've never seen anyone trail brake so hard into corners like in sims. Or take curbs, or chicanes as hard as you can do in sims. I don't see how this is exclusive to any sim though, you can do it in all, i think. TBH, i often feel like i drive too conservatively, simply because i drive close to what i see in onboards of real life motor racing. I never pushed the gas while braking either.

  18. You can trailbrake quite hard IRL depending on the car and corner, but usually throwing the car in there at full brake and using a four wheel slide to slow it down at the right angle at the apex doesnt end too well lol.

    ^This.

There is deep, mild-understeerish, controlled trailbraking and there's yolo throw it sideways deep and magically catch it right at the apex. Two quite different things.

Wouldn't say "yolo" and "magically" are appropriate words to describe the handling because one needs to be quite smooth and precise when throwing the car in corner at >200km/h in RF2. A bit too much angle and your tire surface is a toast in very short time due to temps (much faster than AC) which results in very "icy" experience. Although 650 GT3 (and some other released/updated cars under 397) are for some reason more forgiving then it comes to this which allows for these heavy/longer controlled throws in the corner.

What's dissapointing is that some people who participated in WFG and got relatively good times (~1:58) are suggesting to set tire pressures to lowest. Anyone heard if the top 20 guys are also doing this?
