1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

It's been a bit since I played iracing but I'm pretty sure the big difference is their physics model was not written by the same people. Any differences are because some things have not been measured in the real world. The big one being tires... not only are tire companies kinda secretive, they also just plain do not have data for every situation sim racers get into. It's not like they go test how much grip it has on the astroturf at Silverstone just so Kunos can enter the right data.

  2. Getting talked down to by a troll that apparently isn't happy with the answers Stefano gave him less than four months ago is the absolute perfect topper to this first week of 2018.
    ---------------------------
Drove the Spec Miata at Laguna Seca in iracing the other day after racing it a couple times in the SRS servers here in AC; the difference, at least in this particular combo, isn't that large anymore.

I'd be up for a discussion too, but you parroting questions you've already been given answers to isn't really a discussion. (hence the facepalm) Especially when you follow it up with this:

That's not a start nor a continuation of a discussion, that's you making an unequivocal claim based on what you feel, and claiming that what you feel is a more accurate representation of how things work than the actual game developer stating to you how things do work.

But hey, you do you, I'm out.

I'll take the bait one last time...

What does you being wrong about canned effects have to do with real cars?:rolleyes:

Thanks guys. I thought it was a good discussion. I tried AC without any sliders and it feels pretty good.

  7. nope.. it's one of the several absurdity the internet created by itself by individuals left unchallenged.

  8. if you want to have a discussion don't start pulling number out of your *** (ie. 50%)... then maybe you can have a discussion. The only reasonable discussion you can have in your position starts and end like this:

"sorry guys, I cannot find the explanation for the "canned" effects in AC, could you please link it or explain it to me again?"

  9. it feels pretty much identical. The "canned effects" add very very little to the main signal and all in form of "vibrations", so little to be pretty much irrelevant when trying to judge FF.
Sadly very few really run this test and simply use the general "internet conspiracy theories' where AC is somehow using some magic signal to replace the "bum feeling" or the "weight feeling" or all the rest of the r.etarded stuff you read around spread by people with zero understanding of how things work and an unstoppable desire to be noticed.

I can't speak for everyone wanting 'canned' effects but for me it was a quick fix for more FFB stranth and detail at a time when I was having problems with your software. I don't want to start guessing what it was but I have always tried my best to be as precise and honest as possible. This last reinstall, after deleting everything AC, gave me the strong detailed FFB in AC that I have been looking for. The way I hear some people talk about AC makes me wonder if they're experiencing some of the same conditions I had? I haven't tried other cars and tracks yet but at this point I don't think I need any sliders any more.
Maybe someone should start a thread about what can cause problems with AC?
The latest issue I noticed was a weather mod not installed correctly.
    Sorry for being a pain!

@vegaguy 5555 I think the car polar rotation feeling in simracing comes visually at first, and immediately after that through FFB. Using very small FOV (in some cases which is refered to being realistic) takes away this feedback, and creates a tiny delay for your reactions. There is also audio feedback. I couldn't imagine how it could be compensated through FFB, it would probably ruin everything rather than help.

If we are still talking about ffb here. How on earth weather mod could have an effect on ffb ?

FFB is such a mysterious subject. I am always wondering. Not understanding too much lol

I wonder how tire bumps damping and tire flex goes through FFB.

I used to use enhanced understeer effect with G25, but now with T300 I don't use it anymore. I'm good now :D Found myself with Gyro on about with ~40% damping. Also about 40% percent damping in wheel profiler. Really good feel.

In my defense Steam got so bad it black screened and I found it quarantined in Bitdefener as a vicious threat. AC went from weakest FFB to strongest with most weight at 60 gain, which is almost too much but I love it.

But I don't care. You guys can tease me.

Thanks for not banning me Stefano!

Perhaps antivirus was reducing the voltage somehow :D

  15. it's all automagic really. As long they influence the forces generated by the tyres, you will feel them.
Damping will change the velocity of load changes for example.. flex will change the timings of lateral forces, the slip levels at which you will obtain them that will change the susp geometry at that point, plus it will move the contact point around... all this will change the forces and their application point which will go through the FF and it will have an effect. But it's all a result of how the engine is built, there is no actual code doing it explicitly... it just happens.

I guess I shouldn't have thrown in weather mod with FFB. It was causing a stutter and latency. Maybe because I was too lazy to install the whole thing?

He claimed RF2 doesn't use canned effects and I haven't seen an evidence yet that RF2 uses canned effects (in default configuration and these settings aren't available in game menus).

I can have a camera on a shelf but if I don't ever take it out to film with it I cannot say that I use it.

So the guy with the 7 post, all in this thread, as an opinion, good for him, why should we care?
If anyone gives a f**ck on what effect RF2 uses or does not use, why not go on the RF2 support forum and ask the developers over there what they have to say?:)
