1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    I'm quite the opposite: I can't limit myself to just one sim.

    Currently there's no sim that offers a complete experience. Each game has its pros and cons, and offers different cars and tracks for you to enjoy. So why not? Why limit yourself to drive on the same pack of tracks and cars every time if you have other options.

    Stock Car Extreme is an amazing sim. It probably gets more playtime from me than AC, tbh. The cars are simply a pleasure to drive, and the categories are more interesting to me, personally, than the ones included in AC (bonus: the karts are a blast!). Force feedback is also better than the one in AC, imo (both are good at transmitting track bumps, but I feel SCE is better at conveying the feel of grip in the tyres, so I can drive closer to the edge and achieve better control of the car). It helps that I'm Brazilian, so I can relate to the tracks, too.

    As for the developers, I have absolute respect and admiration for Reiza. They just keep on improving the game and adding more polished content (both tracks and cars), and it's all free for current users. Their work with the rf1 engine is superb; they have an update to add tire flatspots and dirt pickup, as well as wing flex, coming sometime soon. So, yea, for the time being, SCE is my main sim. It might change in the future, depending on the content that becomes available for AC, and depending on how I like PCars.

    Nice to see a mature discussion about this sim. Like @epox said, I really don't have to have all the Sims. In eyeing this one close but holding off of getting until I receive my accuforce. I haven't heard anything bad about it and the AI look superb. In a perfect world, they would just move on to the rfactor 2 engine and take advantage of the increased fidelity. And whip that engine into shape as well.

    This implies that rFactor 1's FFB and tire phyiscs are clearly ahead of Assetto Corsa's.
    This is misinformation and makes no sense, because that would imply that rFactor 2 would be way behind rFactor 1 in terms of realism, which is certainly not the case. Also according to real race drivers

    The current GSCE is content and some plugin enhancements. Reiza didn't touch any engine code and they haven't publicly released their new tire model plugin yet.

    Its a good sim but even though it has more features then ac and overall better polished the key for me is the driving. GSC is pretty good but AC to me feels more natural still and GSC still has some issues from the old rf1 engine but its greatly improved on what ISI did with it. Reiza have done well with the engine AI still nothing special though better then AC.

    MP I havent tried in GSC yet as there werent many on locally whenever I looked. I havent loaded it in a while or even converted it to steam which I will do at some point. Still AC takes most of my sim time these days, I run a few laps in the others after most updates but AC is the one I cam just keep lapping. With lots of content in AC and usually someone to race in mp plus a great nords it has more then enough for me atm.

    ISI sold rFactor 1 as a modding platform, with the base content serving only as a rough example. It's for modders to do stuff with it.
    Reiza didn't touch any AI code. The AI code is all ISI.

    GSC just doesn't play nice with my Windows 7 Home so I don't run it very often - it's nice when it works, it just has a bunch of issues (can't minimize it, sometimes my keyboard or wheel doesn't work, it breaks the taskbar until I reboot). And softTH while it allows triple screens is nowhere near as configurable as AC's (which in itself is kinda lacking vs. iRacing)

    Been playing the GSC demo for a little while but initial impressions are its not clicking with me.

    Lack of content that I can relate to, dated looks and ffb that for me doesn't feel as good as ac. I keep fiddling with it in the hope that something magical will happen but so far it hasn't. It feels very much like a highly polished rfactor mod, which of course it is, and I lost interest in rfactor years ago after a long and happy time with it.

    Does anyone know where I can download a motion plugin for GSCE , the software I use ( Lince) has the option in the menu but nothing happens ? , the motion works in AC but I would love to get it working in GSCE ......I have spent a lot of time looking on the net but found nothing ...

    GSC is just amazing. Give the MP a try. The content is the different. A lot of unknown tracks, but these tracks are very funny to drive.

    Just try it, but invest some time to adjust the settings.
