1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I am good drivers and i am still 10 sec behind leaders

  3. LoL, the secret is a lot of years in Karting racing (125 Europa from 1993, with good results, a national champ and a pairs of spectacular accident)
...and after (during) the Kart race I can take a lot of virtual laps with iRacing (first in Jetta TT champ 2010), GTR, GP2 and... REVS (who know this? Boys what a long time ago. cit. I'm too old for this)

  4. I hope you guys are done beating up on me ? It was an inquiry and I got the answer I am looking for. I'll see you on the track in a near future

If you're looking for races to join there's regular races on racedepartment, there's a more friendly atmosphere once everyones on the server, you don't have to be the fastest either. I'm on there and there's a few others from here too.

It's gone now? What kind of lap time was it?

  8. I just need more lap times before I joined MP servers. I haven't really run other classes of car enough. I would hate to be a source of disturbance.

It was a few tenths below WR i think, apparently just a RSR Bug.

There are plenty of slower drivers, as long as you're aware of the fast guys coming through nobody has a problem. What I did for practice was watch what races where coming up and then practice that combination on my own, maybe run an AI race and compare my results with RSR times. There's no way to compare results for the race just yet unfortunately.

What's most important in these online races is consistency, we're all amateurs at the end of the day and there are plenty of spins. If you can just keep your car on the track you'll place highly. I'm able to qualify in the top five but nearly always end up fighting my way up from the back because my consistency isn't the best.

Well, if you're consistent, but not fast, then you don't really have good race pace. Same for people who are fast but aren't consistent. But I'm with Hany, fast laps on RSR aren't really that telling. It doesn't give insight to one's race pace, tire management, overtaking, and defending abilites. All of which can be considered more important.

If you're thinking you'll get laughed off of a server, that's not true. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that does this, but here's a common scenario that I find myself in quite often during the week since I'm in western US...

Not many races going in the evening, so I pick something random. Two other dudes join, but I out qualify them by some seconds. I will intentionally drive slower but on the "correct fast line" trying to basically overemphasize the benefit of focusing more on the exit of the corners. After a few laps, the guys following have picked up on what I'm doing and they try to follow me without pushing the car, only focusing on the line and exits of corners. Magically they gain some speed, and thank me once it's over.

You should get into some MP races just to see what you can learn from others. Always remember, no matter who you are, there is always going to be someone faster than you. Don't get upset by getting flat out beaten, but try to learn why you got beat instead. I'm sure, as others have said, if you demonstrate courtesy, you'll have no problems in MP.

  17. I've been racing for 15 years on the PC/Console. I have shy away from MP over the years because of the bumper car attitude of most MP game. I didn't want to commit to Iracing so I mostly do hotlap offline for the past few years. If the AC community is as good as it seems online, I might actually try to jump back in.

As a responsible drivers, I will actually ran some laps in whatever car category before because I don't want to make a fool of myself and I like to be somewhat competitive. Regardless if I am first or last.

Most common cars used online is the BMW Z4 GT3 and Mclaren MP4 GT3. Practice those cars on tracks like Nurburgring, Imola, Silverstone, Monza. Use the RSR site for setups, use the ingame performance app to see in real time what you gain or lose at any moment. The pedal app is also very useful if you don't have perfect control over them yet. What I did was putting that pedal app just below my point of view, accually just on top of the gear app so you have constant view of how much input you have without having to lose a lot of focus on apexes.

Than you are an experienced fellow, and should take up online racing! Stay within the rules of racing and enjoy yourself! No need to be shy if you are clean. See you on track!
BTW: Had a race w/just one guy, seemingly a newbie. Drove at pace first, than realised I was way to fast for him. Slowed down for him to catch me, and after two laps having him following my line, we could compete in the two last laps. Great fun for him and me. Do so, and spread the word...

I think you'll find you'll improve much faster online. There's something about racing against other people that brings out extra speed in you. I had been trying to beat the historic achievement on the lotus 49 for months. In one of my first online races I beat it during the race without even realising.
