Thank you all, Kunos team, for this great update "Red Pack", it's real fun to drive these cars and in case of the 250F I understand how great a Fangio was to drive so fast with these cars!

Kunos I'm in love!
You've created such an amazing sim and as someone who's loved them since being a kid this is up there with the very best.
I can't think of another sim that gives me the same feel for car movement and grip as this. Every car feels unique and I get to learn so much about them from how they drive in AC.
This is coming from someone who can only play with a controller (for health reasons) and so I'm doubly appreciative that I can enjoy driving without feeling like I'm missing out by not playing with a wheel.
You really are the best and you're putting all the other teams out there to shame.
Keep up the amazing work and I'll look forward to enjoying more great updates and the console release!

I'm late to this one, but gotta add myself to this list and say a big thank you to KS for delivering yet another amazing DLC which is worth every single penny imo.
The SF-15t is the best implemented F1 car in the history of gaming.

Oh and also a relieved thank you for this 1.7.1 fix "- Reverted HideApps command key (CTRL+H)"

 

There's something I was really impressed with and would like to share with the community, especially because this is a "what's the worth in real-life" kind of thing.
I was at a track day just recently and rented a cup car from a race team. You can see the first-person video I recorded, watch minute 1:40, I'm entering a fast turn too hard under braking and almost loose the car (sorry for the camera angle, I think you can see what's important, I guess the steering was 180-270 deg. offset). This was not the only oversteer I saved that day, there were some more on different corners at different speeds.



I have some 480h in Assetto Corsa and I drive as much as possible in real-life + I do go to track days allot (I also drive as many different cars I can), but doing this in the first lap with a car I didn't know was really something for me, and for a few seconds I was thinking about how I did that (in such situations subconstience takes over I guess). I haven't done any carting, I don't have any training, so obviously this was picked up in Assetto Corsa. And I do believe it because I do exactly that in-sim, ie. with cars I don't know that have allot of lock, just let the car do the initial catch, while I handle the recovery.

So is Assetto Corsa any good in real life? I would say so (don't underestimate actual driving in real cars). Where to look when racing, how to focus, how to push a little harder, I believe we can do that with any sim. But really taking a car in a sim to it's limits and expect the same results in real life, that is something only Assetto Corsa can teach you at this point. I for one feel really confident I can take any car on any track and adapt very quick, find limits, feather the controls to get more grip, estimate corner speeds better and so on, all thanks to the time spent in Assetto Corsa.

And also thanks for the AI work, I really enjoy 30-40 laps with AIs! There are allot of important things during a tight race that we normally don't consider or don't get online, like the noise from the other cars that covers the engine sound making it harder to shift properly, focusing on your line, being aware of the environment, being fast even if you're not on your line because some other car got it, and so on.

 

Best update yet AI is a joy and nice tight racing

 

Just came over to AC from racing a lot of PCars on PS4 and then pc. Really enjoying it so far getting used to the physics and racing the AI. So thank you!

 

I just tried the Maserati 250F 12 cylinder at Brands Hatch and.. o mother of god it's like a drug! It's fast but not too fast, it stays on the road but keeps you on the edge of your seat, if you floor the gas the back starts dancing, it drifts but you can catch it.. fantastic. I love the Lotus 49, I like the Lotus 25, but this thing is awesome. Thanks.

 

The SF15-T is a damn masterpiece.

 

jeez thanks...can't believe I paid $10us for the red pack. poor effort and I think worse than the Japanese DLC . The MC GT4 is sterile and takes for ever to change gear and the 488 GT3 handles weird and the skins are pathetic . Take all of 3 minutes to whip them up. I've seen newbs release better skins .

 

Amazing cars and great track in Red Pack DLC.
There is 60 year gap between the Maserati 250f and the Aventador SV but both are such a delight to drive.
The 488 GT3 is a blast and a very much welcome addon to the already impressive GT3 pack. AI continues to impress and in v1.7 they're truly outstanding.

I've been here since December 2013 and still loving every time I fire assetto up, I've upgraded my PC and bought Fanatec's full setup and a simetik race rig, all for the love of Assetto Corsa !
