After driving the P1 I am simply in love with this car, it just oozes total awesomeness out of every inch of the car ... the sounds are freaking sweet IMO ... Really hoping that at some stage someone makes the 918 so we can have all 3 of these new breed of supercars in our game

Just tested both LaFerrari and P1 on 1KM dragstrip. "Wings" app showed that both cars have ~1000kg downforce at the end of dragstrip at around 340km/h. For reference 458 GT2 showed 1000kg at around 260km/h.

 

You know, I come here to get away from issues that divide otherwise like-minded men. Leave it for your coworkers or neighbors or something!

P1 wins me over. The grunt, the sounds, the chris harris review of the near-production mule, it's a fantastic thing!

 

Thanks guys for info on the IPAS being always-on in race mode - was not aware so cheers. Now I know my KERS button isn't broken after all..have been desperately pushing it thinking..is this thing on? lol. Am not sure why I was thinking 320 at the end of Conrod Straight wasn't fast enough haha
Cool driving stuff in AC that has the same level of acceleration as my everyday road bike hah . Loving the P1 a lot - if the real one is as easy to drive as this then that would be sweet...most reviews say it is thou. When I manage to tear my *** out of the C9 this is the relaxing drive of choice lol.

 

Sadly i dont feel like driving the P1 until the issue is confirmed/fixed now

I agree that pollution seems to get ignored and is just as much of a problem, but we can see how pumping CO2 and ash into the atmosphere affects weather every time a volcano goes off, it shut down Europe for months and caused temperature changes. If we're pumping out almost the same amount of CO2 as volcanoes globally year after year and the volcanoes can affect the weather of entire regions of the world for months on end it's a bit naive to assume we're having absolutely no effect with our CO2 emissions. While we don't immediately affect the climate as radically as a volcano and we're not over powering the suns effect on weather we are cumilitively releasing the planets CO2 sotres into the atmosphere. Maybe climate change isn't as bad as they're making out, it wouldn't be the first time they got it wrong and the fact the media sensationalise every bit of news doesn't help, but we can't assume there will be absolutely no consequences for our actions. We have added a new variable into the ecosystem and it probably will have an affect.

Because you (America) can't really afford to go on sightseeing trips to the moon any more. You're massively in debt and NASA have spent the last few decades trying to make space flight affordable and worthwhile.

Automatic DRS activation including automatic deactivation on heavy steering. 26 lines of code. Wasn't that hard Kunos. Could have saved us the trouble, especially for those who don't know how to do this stuff themselves.

 

I did a bunch of laps at Aosta Grand Sport (popular mod) in the P1 and LaFerrari and they were within 1 tenth of each other.. The P1 was easier to drive though, the LaFerrari felt more raw and moved around more freely, wasn't as fast through the corners but felt like it pulled the advantage on the straights. The P1 was the faster of the two with my testing, but with only 0.1s difference it's close enough that it could be one or the other.

Not tried a real comparison at other tracks, the P1 is a complete monster at Nordschleife. Both cars were faster than the Sauber C9 at Aosta.

 

Yep - that's what TC, ABS, EDL, and slicks on a 900hp road car will do for you - don't need to tell me about the advantages of electronic aids..I use them everyday on a 190hp roadbike, and it feels like cheating hardcore lol.
Have you tried with all aids de-activated in the P1?, and of course I assume you didn't leave the C9 at the default 50% boost did you?

But yea the P1 is a monster - with just a practice session including the P1 and C9 they were very close...but the AI uses default boost during practice so yea...

 

yeah P1 all the way... I really hope the downforce "issue" is not an "issue" the car is so brilliant right now

 

I've not driven it with the TC on as it's set to "off" by default, only the factory ABS (but it would make no sense to turn that off!). The other systems can sometimes do as much bad as they do good, while I've been saved by the cars systems I've also been put into a wall with them.. But in any case the P1 is just complete insanity and almost unbelievable. The Sauber would not really benefit from more boost at Aosta as it's already traction limited and most of the speed is lost through corners, during gear changes or under braking.

You can run 100% and chew the engine to bits and it's still slower than either the P1 or LaFerrari at that circuit, the power in the C9 is not even remotely as usable as in the P1/Ferrari as it's too much all or nothing.

 

Interesting - I was pretty sure the TC was on by default on the P1.

haha yep that's what makes the C9 so much fun! If only the MotoGP would go back to 2-stroke 500cc bikes and we would see more of the 'too much all or nothing'!

Try letting the AI run against the P1 in the C9 at 100% during Qualifying..

 

P1 with road tyres and all assists off (even factory ones) is the way to go
