1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

They promised "full" triple screen support. Triples technically work but that wasn't what they promised.

They promised full VR support. VR technically works but not apps or vir mirror. Does ASW work with the 10xx cards. Look looking back in open wheel cars, tires have blankets and most of rear suspension wasn't modeled. I could go on.

PCARs was a platform they were going to support for years to come. Releasing DLC isn't what I call real support and updating the platform. Can't remember exactly but wasn't it only like 6 months after Pcars 1 they started working on 2.

No, certainly not. However, I've driven 3 of their products already:
    - NFS: Shift
    - Test Drive: Ferrari
    - Project Cars

Each of them was a disappointment, especially regarding the physics. The least disappointment and the one I drove the most was NFS: Shift, but mainly because it had the Carrera GT (even though in arcadist version) and because I really had low expectations about that one after the horrible previous NFS versions.
The other two were just claiming to be sims but really weren't.

So I don't really have faith in SMS when it comes to the creation of simracing titles.
I just don't expect the outcome for the next one to be any different then the previous 4 titles (of which admittedly 1 I have not tested).
But as I said: let them do their thing, I'll look somewhere else. ;)

Looks like they just added more graphics. Which doesn't bode well for improved physics.

Sadly, the FFB-setting descriptions were pointed out as being problematic by WMD members several times but, SMS chose to ignore them in the end. I like having options but, expecting users to have advanced degrees in physics to understand those FFB settings seems a bit much. In that case, the developers lacked the ability to "translate" such information into layman terms and that sort of sums up how the physics ended up; highly sophisticated internally but, lost in translation where it really counts.

I hope SMS is addressing some of those issues but, I'm firmly in the "Skeptical Camp" right now after having experienced the previous title. I have to admit, there was a time when I enjoyed it's Dynamic weather / Day & Night features in VR and the FFB with SimCommander was surprisingly good but, it doesn't translate well beyond that and becomes rather boring after one gets past the shiny graphics and all. As I said many times, Pcars lacks a certain visceral driving quality found in other Sim's; while that's something some players may not even be aware of, it can't be replaced by any amount of visual effects for my use.

GT Legends and GTR2 were pretty good :)

I suspect a key problem is producing a tyre model. Very few people can do this. Even those who have in the past (such as Dave Kaemmer) have struggled with the new generation of physical tyre models. Ian Bell recruited Eero Piitulainen - the guy behind Richard Burns Rally physics - for NFS Shift's tyre physics (the rest was a development of ISIMotor2 physics). But as I understand it the WMD members were not happy with his brush-type model and Eero felt he couldn't take his tyre model any further. So they recruited a new guy who developed the SETA tyre model for pCARs. The SETA model is the least mature tyre model of the current generation of sims so perhaps its understandable it still needs further development.

I ran the demo of Forza Horizon 3 on PC before I bought this game.

Graphically, it is the best looking driving game on earth, bar none.

Sadly, it's pure garbage. It's only worth getting if you'd rather just watch video and listen to annoying voice overs. The driving aspect of it is so boring I wouldn't even rate it at arcade level.

Several of the team from GTR2 work at SMS now.

Lots of people writing this off early, and to me it's likely to be another jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none, especially seeing as they seem to want to include everything that will make a pretty screenshot, BUT there were plenty of things right with the original too and if they can make gradual improvements in all areas then I look forward to seeing what will come of this.

With AC, Raceroom, PCARS, rf2 and DiRT Rally installed, even if none of them are my perfect game in the way GTR2 was, it's a good time to be a sim racer IMO.

I know, it's still a different team. The Simbin team showed what they could do with GTL and GTR2.
But it's a spin-off of which some worked for Simbin and since then everything they showed was … not my thing.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not writing this off, I just don't care if they get it right or not.
I felt betrayed by what they did with Test Drive Ferrari Legends and with Project Cars as well.
I just won't buy Project Cars 2 unless it is the hottest **** ever released onto the simracing community (which would be a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge surprise).

Having said that, I have no problem with others playing that game. Don't care.

From what i have seen they have addressed many of the issues from the first game, it will have real penalties system, improved FFB with much better GUI, graphics are much more natural better shadows & night lighting improved VR performance, Obviously we have seen the weather & dynamic track improvements. Menus are much improved, more laser scanned tracks, multiple custom setups you name it whatever people moaned about most of it will be fixed & improved. But of course the million dollar question how is it going to drive. Well the tyre model has been upgraded & made more complex & its worth noting than upon release of pcars 1 it was apparently more advanced than anything else at the time. Suspension/body roll not so much but either way pcars has made improvements with the aim of being the most accurate simulation. Who know if they will succeed or fail but i do know they are putting the effort in. I don't think off road will do them any harm if anything it may improve the overall physics, maybe the idea is to release far more DLC than before & let you specialise in whatever you prefer. I personally hope they succeed as great as AC is, it is really lacking and at times frustrating in some areas. But the physics & accuracy of pcars 2s models would have to be at least as good to drag me away.

Won't surprise me. PCARS 1 has been the hottest **** when you consider that it owns both PS4 and XB1 simracing, since GT is absent, Forza don't count, and AC didn't sell. Also that the simracing community is about 100x larger than the group of hardcore forum regulars.

Some people had unrealistic expectations largely (or perhaps wholly in part) due to the paid marketing shills hyping up the game as the most hardcore thing to ever be envisioned.

It didnt help at all that there were members from the community (well, lots of members) being paid to say nice things about Pcars before it released. Let alone all the nonsense that Ian Bell and Co. were exclaiming about. Hmm, as a matter of fact, what ever happened to Andy Tudor? He went dead silent after the release of Pcars 1 :p

Hasnt been too much for games like Gran Turismo and Forza dating back 10 yrs. LS tracks would be a lovely addition in any game for the sole reason that they are actually accurate layouts with proper elevation/camber/etc. Scratch made tracks from eye can be quite good as Im sure we all know from playing other games, but their is just that small portion missing since their layouts are never entirely accurate. At least in my opinion :D

Come on guys, game developement is not salvation army! They do it not because they want to "make the world great again", they do it to earn money!

On every things, cars, movies, games, music and so on, if one is successfull, they do a part 2 to sell more of it. Sooner or later Kunos will do it also i am sure and i am ok with this. New games usually means improvement. Look at games like Rfactor released in 2005, RF2 released in 2012 (beta) this is not a healthy process and u see it in the game that it is, eccept the physics, not state of the art...

U guys spend usually every one or two years a huge amount of money for your computer or mobile phones, but on games u want permanent service for free for long time and constant improvements. This cannot work!

You are absolutely right and there is nothing wrong with that. Oh and I don't have a problem with it.

Stuff like Battlefield 6 (or where we are at right now) or The Witcher sells great as well and possibly are the best games ever for a certain crowd.
But if you're not in the target group, there is no need to admire them. ;)

Thats funny considering the many of the WMD members said that the physics was so complex that it needed all those sliders. :)

Excellent point. Although SMS seemed particularly greedy by announcing pCars2 6 months after the release of Pcars 1. That right there lets you know what their focus is. They couldn't even wait a year or two. Had I known this before I purchased pCars I'd have skipped right to Assetto Corsa and saved myself $60.
