The Challenges.

1) - Weekly Hotlap #100

Car: Nissan GT-R GT3
Track: Silverstone GP
Prize for the winner: Get's to decide the car and track for the #101




Yup, that's right. Prizes Deciding combos is really the only thing that i can award people with (i'm sure most people don't care much about titles). This is how things used to be in the primordial days of the WHL - the winner would host the next challenge. To celebrate the #100, i will bring this back for the #101 and #102.

GT-R GT3 on Silverstone GP! A similar challenge was run on the #39 (ages ago! ) - this one with the stock version of this car. The GT3 version of the Godzila is pretty much the same as the stock one: lots of power but so heavy that makes it a bit...slow. Its also probably the hardest GT3 car to handle, it's very oversteery- but probably more competent hands than mine may think otherwise



Silverstone - what can i say,many people dislike this track, and to be honest, it's far from being my favourite aswell. But,it's aleays a nice challenge to try to own this very plain track. If there is a circuit in the world where the racing line is important, that's definatly on this british track!


2) - Weekly Hotlap #18 Revival

Track: Brands Hatch
Prize for the winner: Get's to decide the car for the #102







The WHL with the most entries ever! 57 people lapped Brands Hatch using this british lightweight vehicle, so i'm guessing this was one hell of a combo. I wonder how many people will take part on this one again
Not much point in trying to beat previous laptimes - many things changed in AC since the 2016 - but still it will be nice to have some reference laptimes!

3) - Concour d'Elegance at Vallelunga

Prize: Get's to decide the track for the #102

Last week, in Estoril (Portugal) was held the 4th annual Concours d'Elegance, where many historical and luxury cars made presence. It's always a nice mixture: the glamorous Monaco-alike view of Cascais/Estoril mixed with some great machines.So,let's celebrate something similar aswell. Assetto's signature track (Vallelunga), on your favourite car! Competition will not be the main goal here - unless you want to challenge someone - but it's more related to having fun on a car (or multiple cars) of your choosing. It's the first open challenge in the history of the WHL. PC players are more than welcome to do laps with mod cars!
Again, this challenge is more of a show off than a real hotlap, but still a leaderboard will be uploaded if necessary.
How should we decide the most funny/notorious car?Simple, i will create a pool for it, the only thing i ask is to be fair and imparcial

The Rules.
Mode: Hotlap
Time of day: Free
Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
Setup: Free
Controller: Free
Assists: Factory
Stability: Free


Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

The Deadline.
Sunday October 28th 2018 - 21:00 GMT.

How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Nissan GTR-GT3 and head to Silverstone GP; Lotus Exige V6 Cup and head to Brands Hatch; or a car of your choosing and head to Vallelunga. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.Also,to avoid mistakes on laptimes,please enter them with the format x.xx.xxx. This format makes it easier to work with Excell.
A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

Feel free to use the unofficial leaderboard but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

Just kidding.But perhaps you don't have a mod of a Spitfire?

 

Nope, no Spitfire so had to make do. Turning circle leaves a little to be desired, I had to do something like a 5 point turn for turn 15! Oh and you have to keep it below 75mph or so or it takes off :O

Before someone says it isn't a car... I was taxiing, taxi's are cars, therefore I was a car.

 

To be honest im actually amazed, 5.52 is a great laptime for a plane taxiing out on a track lol

But wait...that plane actually takes off?you can fly it?

Our 100th WHC. What a milestone! A big thank you to all the attendees over the last two years and a special thumbs up to the great men who managed the leaderboards, figured out new combo's that came together with enjoyable stories.

I shall have to try and run some laps for the 100th edition of the WHC

I think my favourite events from my time in control were the Pagani at Zandvoort, mind bendingly fast on a technical track, and the madness of the Maserati Levante S at Magione, that thing could go properly sideways when idiot mode was engaged, the absurdity of it all made me laugh so much!

Happy 100th WHC!
For the 3rd Challenge Ayrton's motor was a no-brainer for me. What a buzz, feeling very pumped after 6 laps! All driver aids off, turbo and engine on max, quali tyres and just haaang on. Effortless thrust whilst on a tightrope.
Had a quick go afterwards in the V6 Cup at Brands, in comparison it feels like you're walking round.

 

PS: Unless anyone has a Lockheed Martin F22 Raptor, I think Andy-R has completely won this challenge. The thought of taxi-ing that plane, presumably using a keyboard, is hugely amusing.
I'd be interested to know how long it would take to fly the lap....

I'm not sure if it is possible to get a valid lap in the air. I tried to fly the lap but it doesn't turn tight enough to fly anything close to the track layout.

I used an Xbox pad to taxi around BTW. Couldn't be bothered to dig the wheel out for that one. Sounds like I'm odds-on favourite for challenge 3 at the moment
